Two fold really. It's given the religious leaders ammo to enflame the arabic world against the evil America. However, we've crippled the main terrorist groups war fighting capability, and what little they have left they have to concentrate on the middle east rather than abroad.

It's taken the fight to them, meaning it has been a great success.

We could have had damn near the same success at systematically crippling terrorists orgs staying in one country rather than being on two front too.

We did fine in two threatres of war during WWII, with the bonus of having saved the French who are such good friends of ours today.

...unlike Rommel, who wanted Africa, and costs' Germany the same WWII.

Germany's failure was less due to Africa than it was invading Russia
Or wasting valuable resources on it's "ally" Italy
Or going to far to stop shipping going into Englad and thus nudging US closer to war.
Or many other things, Africa was far from Germany's biggest mistake of the war.

True, you had two formidable opponents in World War II
Positively it's prevented attacks here.
What do you think Biden ment here? Will Obama make deals with terrorists?
Will he nuke some country that attacks us?

Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he's gonna have to make some really tough - I don't know what the decision's gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it's gonna happen. I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you, not financially to help him, we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right. Because all these decisions, all these decisions, once they're made if they work, then they weren't viewed as a crisis. If they don't work, it's viewed as you didn't make the right decision, a little bit like how we hesitated so long dealing with Bosnia and dealing with Kosovo, and consequently 200,000 people lost their lives that maybe didn't have to lose lives. It's how we made a mistake in Iraq. We made a mistake in Somalia. So there's gonna be some tough decisions. They may emanate from the Middle East. They may emanate from the sub-continent. They may emanate from Russia's newly-emboldened position because they're floating in a sea of oil."

Without a doubt. Pin em down there or fight em in the streets here. I believe the correct choice was made.

Rommel had a personal obsession about Africa, and fought to stay there. Most important issue? No, but it was an issue.

I feel it has too.
I had to make sure it wasn't me that was smokin crack. I got to talking with some guys on Yellowbullet about this and they are claiming it hasn't done anything to stop it. I'm thinking, WTF, am I high or what..lol

If America would have delayed getting into teh war another 6months or not at all, Monty would have capitulated.
