This is his version of preparing us for an attack, so when it happens, we won't be so shocked. Kennedy was the last to be "tested" on a large scale, with the "Bay of Pigs". Khrushchev (the Russian leader at the time) made Kennedy look very young and inexperienced, which he was. It was definitely a "black-eye" for the U.S.
Just one occurrence of a terroristic nature, will make this nation wish Barry wasn't in there. I pray it doesn't happen, but here's ol' Joe setting the tone.

John Kennedy showed he had what it took to be a strong leader however by facing down Khrushchev during the Cuban missile crisis. Obama has no such backbone, and if, say, Russia decides to deploy nukes in Venezuela all he'll be able to do is wring his hands and whimper with his tail tucked between his legs. Terrorism is a completely new threat that JFK didn't have to face, and I am quite sure Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas, etc. will all be shouting and dancing in the streets should Obama be elected President.

Well if Obama gets elected he won't be able to get a black eye.

Or a job, or a fat lip according to the joke:D

Expect McCain to hammer on this point.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I wouldn't count on Obama riding through town in a convertible any time soon.

i doubt obama has the stuff to deal with a russian military base in south america which is exactly what chauves the pig wants. these are tuff times , worse than we have seen since nam. we can not allow a russian base anywhere on our continent . the cold war is back and being funded by our money at the pumps . just an old mans opinion but priced right :D

The National Security Council dictates foreign policy when it comes to national defense, not necessarily the president. It doesn't matter if it's Obama, Palin or even Al Gore sitting in the oval office if Congress does their job and approves qualified cabinet members. They go into committee, come up with a decision and the president sells it to Congress and the American public.

US intelligence’s amended estimate, that Iran will be ready to build its first bomb just one month after the next US president is sworn in, is disclosed by DEBKAfile’s Washington sources as having been relayed as a guideline to the Middle East teams of both presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama.

The information prompted the assertion by Democratic vice presidential nominee Joseph Biden in Seattle Sunday, Oct. 19: “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy.”

DEBKAfile’s military sources cite the new US timeline: By late January, 2009, Iran will have accumulated enough low-grade enriched uranium (up to 5%) for its “break-out” to weapons grade (90%) material within a short time. For this, the Iranians have achieved the necessary technology. In February, they can move on to start building their first nuclear bomb.

It'll be O.K. Barry is going to go talk to them about it, and all will be fine.
