Had it on a measly 100 shot...........and it ran 10.60's & 10.70's. Had a pretty good launch on my 1st pass. I sure hope someone got it on film or a still shot of it. I tried to pedal it back on the last run but stayed in it for .4 too long. I was going through the traps at 6800. ...my lil motor aint ever had that type of workout. When we got home my car pulled itself into the garage and closed the door.

Neal, the car looked good man. I wondered WTF was going on, I knew it was faster than that!
We had a good time as usual, I met a lot of people - most of which I probably won't remember. lol.

Wish I could have meet all you guys, mine was being pulled out on a trailer about the time you guys left on the cruise. Yesterday was not a good day for me or the Cobra!

I didn't want to lean on it that hard and not ever running the 1/4 I didn't want any problems. I should have put a lil more on it. I would have been right there with Kevin.

I believe it was a Half-Shaft, I will not know for sure until tomorrow. If it is I will be buying Level 5's to keep that from happening again. That track was sticky!!

It was a good time out there, but it seemed to me like they rushed the shit out of us. I felt like I couldn't even take the time to heat the tires. They kept waving me forward even before I got the tires spinning, WTF? At any rate it was fun and I got to make my final pass on a flat ET Street. Tire picked something up on the return road and air was coming out fast waiting to make that last pass. I ended up getting 16th which is pretty good for a car that cost me a total of $2500 to put together (that includes the car) lol. Fastest time for me was 11.79. Oh, and if anyone has the tubes that run from the front of the lower intake to the heater core on a foxbody, I could use one. Mine blew a hole in the side of it on the way to the trailer.
BTW it did seem like that track went on for-ev-errrrrr. That was my first time down the quarter mile in this car.

It was nice to meet you Neal. I was glad that you came up to the car and introduced yourself.
FAST 408 was too much for me in True Street. Thought there would be more 8-9 second cars there. Heard that two 8 second cars broke on Friday night at another track. I was shocked as hell that I managed runner up and 10.0 class winner at the same time.
Got to the final 3 on the bracket class and the fuckin' car decided it wanted to go faster than my dial in. Ran consistent all day and then out of no where it picked up time. Happens to me all the time.
By the way, loved the Drag Radials. Went 1.37 in the 60' and ran 10.015 @ 130 with the exhaust on it. Ran out of time and I think we could have gotten it in to a high 9 on Friday.
Congrats to all and we will be doing this again next year with the other two makes......bye, bye Fun Ford Weekend. Nice to meet everyone. I will try to post some cool video later in the week.

Keven, The car looked great. You need to get that transbrake wired up and start using it! That stumble you have out of the hole will be gone and it will instantly run 9.90's - if not .80's.
I told you those radials would rock!

Yup, thats the one. It didn't seem to happen til after my second pass, at least from what I could tell.

I had fun but my car lost 6 mph over normal, I got pretty consitant runs and my car feels great on motor but feels like it lost a lot of power on the bottle, and I dont know why but anyways it was fun I wanted more 11's. last year my clutch cable was sticking so it was hard to shift and I got 11.98 at 119 without being able to shift fast, this years was 12.22 at 113. So a little disappointing on the times but at least it was consitant and I didnt break.

That was me standing between the waterboxes during T/S. I first noticed at when you came up for the 2nd run. I was wondering how bad it would drive like that, I could see the wrinkles in the tire while the car was sitting still.

Hmmm, maybe thats why it spun so damn bad. That and not getting a good burnout at all. Yeah, that last pass was a little scary. I don't think I will be trying that again. All the car wanted to do was pull over into the left lane and sway back and forth.

damn, I thought it sounded a little funny but I couldnt tell what it was and since I was there I was going to break or finish.
What causes the floating of the valves? My springs are supposed to be good to .650 lift and my cam is only .498! I am guessing you could here it, when I first dumped the clutch it went to 6300 rpm and then I kept it at 5800-5900, did it sound like they were floating the whole time? Would that cause it to not run right on the bottle?

On the bottle, not sure - it could be anything.
The other problem - you were doing your burnout in first gear. It can't spin the tires fast enough in low gear with a 3.xx low gear ratio (in the trans). It could work if the car had 2.73 (rear gears) or something...
.....You should be doing your burnout in 2nd gear.. that will stop all of the valve floating trying to get the tires spinning fast enough to get hot.

Lift is not the only issue when selecting valvesprings... ramp rate, valvetrain weight and rpm range will dictate valvespring characteristics as well.

Ok, well I dont know anything about them then, I bought the heads used and had Kim Barr fix them, he had to weld up one head and then mill both of them. He put new valve stem seals, full radius cut the valves, new retainers and he said the springs were good I didnt need new ones and that my e-cam was going to be really easy on them, that they were good to .650 lift so that is all I know about them.

One of the cars from HPP ended up getting 3rd or 4th place, running a 10.3, 10.4, 10.4. White cobra with a 4valve/Kenne Bell setup. We didn't have time to get the nitrous tuned in, so he ran it on blower only.He would have been in the 9's all day long :(

Its got a tight convertor in it for just the blower, but should be all good to go on the bottle. I think he only 60' a 1.6x on his 10.3 pass
