With all the tax plan talk, this problem crossed my mind again.

"The national debt numbers are overwhelming for most Americans," admits best-selling author Addison Wiggin, co-author of I.O.U.S.A: One Nation. Under Stress. In Debt. (Wiley, September 2008, ISBN: 978-0-470-22277-5, $19.95). "The simple fact is we've been 'successful' as a nation for so long the average citizen doesn't have a clue what's happening on Wall Street or in the economy. Fear of gigantic numbers, seemingly indiscernible statistics, debates over theory and partisan bickering only add to the confusion. When people don't understand something, it is easier to just dismiss it."

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant (slave) to the lender. Proverbs 22:7

Why don't we stop this insanity? We are going down the exact same road as Rome. Greed and corruption of the politician will be the end of our republic too.
