Thanks to the Mr. Bush?

Gas prices have dropped because of two reasons: Poor economy/falling demand & Increased supply

A lot of the refineries that shut down due to the recent Hurricanes are now producing in overdrive. That is another contributing factor.

If you want to blame someone, blame the Republican Congress for deregulating the Savings & Loan. And our man Alan Greenspan deserves a thumbs down as well. And, of course, you can't forget to blame the real people at the crux of the problem. People living beyond their means and making major purchases they really can't afford.

Hmmm................you don't say. So even though the media has portrayed the Bush administration as being to blame for the high price of gas and the Obamacraps have been using this as part of their campaign, it is simply just supply and demand? The current economic state is a matter of personal responsibility? Interesting.................................

Speaking of all things blamed on Bush...

Today, a woman I know announced that she would have to drive all the way to JPS for her meds. She said she used to get them at MHMR, but couldn't anymore (I'll take psycho for $500, Alex). Now she has to drive all the way to JPS. Then she said "Thank you, Mister Bush".

I asked her how her how the president has anything to do with her welfare medications that are dispensed by a county hospital. She said 'Well, I guess it aint really his fault, but it sure SEEMS like something he'd do'.

Yes, of course it does.

What I find funny about this thread is the OP's screen name compared to the people that did not find the hypocritical humor in his thread....

Which is why I couldn't ever work social services. I would say something stupid like, "Get yourself off of fucking welfare and get your meds from the CVS down the street."

I think you msised the humour in the OP.

HOWEVER.....

If we MAYBE had built a refienry in the 00s....

Or the 90s....

Or the 80s

or anytime since...1976....it just might...MAYBE...make a difference.

What party was behind that brilliant decision, btw?

Why hasn't the government rescheduled the elections to right in the middle of the peak travelling season? I mean fuel prices ALWAYs drop 25% or so in the months before a presidential election.

Please, enlighten me.

Am I wrong about supply and demand behind behind the falling gas prices? Or am I wrong about deregulation brought upon by a Republican agenda regarding the Savings & Loans crisis? Or am I wrong about people living beyond their means being the ultimate root of the problem?

I'm listening.

Suck it, man. I was saying that because that was the standard line given when gas prices were going up. It works both ways.

That is the same reason the OP made his comment. Everyone blamed Bush for rising gas prices so lets blame him for the fall of them too.

Troof!

First day of Psychology class this semester the teacher (black woman...not that it matters...) asks us to find someone in the class we don;t know and ask them two questions: worst possible job / best possible job. After we're done she says her favorite job was social worker. My "partner" did not hesitate to jump up first when it was our turn and announce my worst possible job was social worker. Needles to say she doesn't like me nor my opinions. :D
