Trojan Green Screen

Any help here would be GREAT.

I got a laptop from work(HP using Windows XP) and it has a Trojan(Green Screen) and it is driving me crazy with pop ups and other bad things. Is there a way to remove this for dummies? I have tried everything I know how to do, included going to old restore point, but the trojan won't let me go back. Any help...PLEASE.

The best thing to do in a situation like this is backup all your critical data and wipe the OS clean. Have you tried to boot the computer in safe mode?

Although Blue5spd is 100% right, if that is not an option... google "green screen trojan removal" and there are a ton of removal tools/discussions. Just be careful where you download the tool from or you may get another problem
