For the most part, they are staying true to the book, but they are doing a few things out of order. Tara for instance is in the books, but she's not even introduced until book 3 I believe it is...oh and her brother doesn't do "V"...otehr than than, it's pretty accurate...although the sex scenes are alot more graphic on HBO.

The Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris..I think there are around 8 of them overall..my fiance is on the 4th book currently. I've only read the 1st one thus far, but i'm about to start on book #2.

Bill wasn't the one to stake Long Shadow, it was Eric...and thus he didn't leave Bon Temps because he was on Trial, it was for another reason (since he did leave). Oh and he asked this vamp named "Bubba" to look after Sookie, not Sam....and "Bubba" was really "Elvis"..apparently he wasn't dead after that overdose (however, something went wrong and he would be described as playing with less than a full deck).

Michelle and I have been watching the first season on DVD and have got about halfway through it. It is an entertaining show to me. I can see it getting really silly as it runs its course though.

Yea, it definitely has the potential to spin out of control. It does have alot of plot twists that keep you interested, and alot of bewb shots, so its entertaining for the most part.

Man, they sure have diverted way off the beaten path this season. In the book, that crazy lady (whatever her name is) character had hardly any interaction at all with Sam. She was there to get tribute from Eric. She was barely even in the book at all. Also, Jason was never involved with this Church of the light and they didn't go into this task force that they are assembling. I just wish they would have stayed to the book more. I'm not saying it's not entertaining this way...I guess i'm just partial to the book...but isn't that always the case I guess.
