I just picked up their new album Overcome and it's pretty good. Different from the fall of ideals. Anyone else get it and what are your thoughts on it?
Waiting on the bashing to start now

James (D) is a huge fan of those guys. I'll bet he chimes in sometime soon. I loved their first album, but they changed their sound a bit in their second and I just couldn't get into it.

I didn't think it came out until october 16th, not september. I'm gonna go get it right now. I've heard Chiron and that was pretty awesome so we'll see. Thanks for the reminder.

I like 2 weeks. The cd just seems short for me. It goes by so quick.

I just downloaded it. It sounds good so far. I'm actually liking the more singing. The fall of ideals seemed really generic with the whole scream the verse, sing the chorus. They'll never be in my top metal band list but this is actually something I could play at a party and people not look at me like "Who turned off the soulja boy?" :p

I agree screaming gets old after a while. The album flows pretty well, just kinda short.

I saw them live in Lubbock with The Human Abstract, 36 CrazyFists, and Trivium on the 19th. Fucking great show. Their new album has a few really good songs (number 3 and number 9 especially), but too much singing for me. There are a couple of songs where the bass player, which is a chick, screams like she does in the song "The Weak Willed". They're amazing in concert though.

Their best album IMO is "This Darkened Heart", their second CD.

I really wanna see The Human Abstract. One of my favorite newer bands. Their album Nocturne is ridiculous, and the new one MIdheaven is different but grew on me really fast and I can't get enough now.

I just got Midhaven the other day and I like it. It's different and they only played two songs from that album in concert from what I can remember. They played A LOT of heavier shit when I saw them. They're a really good band for sure. Another band (or two) that I've been listening to A LOT lately are Darkest Hour and October Tide.

'All That Remains'? That's a hardcore band name. I wish I was that hard.
I'm afraid I don't get your humor.
Also check out August Burns Red.

This Darkened Heart was a great album. I didn't pick it up until shortly before Overcome came out. I've been listening to the Fall of Ideals for about 6 months and never ventured out for anything else. I love ATR now, definitely great stuff IMO.
This Darkened Heart was a great album.
I think that's they're best album and when I saw them in concert last month they played ONE song from it.

x2 awesome group. Also in this moment is really good their new album isn't as good as their first. It's not as heavy should i say. It's good just not their first album. Burden of a day is good and also This is the hospital is pretty good.
I'm going to see In This Moment with Five Finger Death Punch at the Tequila Jungle in Lubbock. I think it's on Nov. 7th. Should be a good show. I'll probably have a hard on the whole time from staring at Maria Brink.
Burden of a Day is okay. They kinda sound like 36CrazyFists. Not a big fan of This is the Hospital. They're ok. Their song titles are awesome though; "Go Comatose for me Baby" and "Nobody Fucks With a Lion". I laughed.

Nobody Fucks With a Lion is a pretty good song. Also Battle for Hoth on Burden of the day album is really good. But I was thinking of going down to Lubbock to see In this moment as well. Family lives down there so would just have to pay for the tickets. Sometimes she's smoking hot and other times i'm like meh. But their first album rocks.
Tickets were pretty cheap. Go to frontgatetickets.com and order them there. I think my tickets for ATR and Trivium were only $22 per.
