Interesting article:

For the first time in history, a serious Fannie and Freddie reform bill was passed by the Senate Banking Committee. The bill gave a regulator power to crack down, and would have required the companies to eliminate their investments in risky assets.
...
But the bill didn't become law, for a simple reason: Democrats opposed it on a party-line vote in the committee, signaling that this would be a partisan issue. Republicans, tied in knots by the tight Democratic opposition, couldn't even get the Senate to vote on the matter.

At the end of the last session... the republicans were pushing for a vote on off shore drilling... she adjourned, turned off the lights and mics and left... the republicans made a point by staying and making a stand that the American people needed relief and congress should do SOMETHING...

What's that got to do with morgage failure's?
The problems dates to 1992, when Congress great relaxed FHA morgage criteria. It was voted in by both parties. Then Sarbanes Oxley laws, as a result of Enron/Worldcom....forced the MBA fratboys of Wall St to come up with new ways of scamming thier billions. The packaged mortgage blocks & SIV's were so complex, that FHA had no idea what was going on until too late.

It's relevant. Just another way to prove the Dems don't really give a fuck about the American Public, only what benefits them.
It's the same shit. The Dems shot down something that had at least a shot at preventing the situation we're in now. Just like her acting like a fucking child and turning off the mics when the Republicans tried to make a stand on lifting the ban on offshore drilling.
Wow, now THAT is some petulant bullshit.
