Their efforts appear to have paid off, with industry analysts telling the News it now seems likely the $25 billion in low-cost loans promised to the auto industry as part of last year's Energy Independence and Security Act will be funded as part of a massive bailout planned for the banking industry.

If we give them money, I think now is a good time to raise CAFE standards.

Why not? Is there anyone else that needs a handout? I'm thinking about spending every bit of sales dollars we have come in, and tell my customers to contact their Congressmen and tell them we need some cash to get their already paid for product delivered.

The 50 Million I'm requesting is just a drop in the bucket!

CAFE standards have already been raised. The new standards start to phase in, in 2011 and go up more in 2015 and 2020. These new standards are one of the reasons GM and Ford are asking for the loans.

Frankly I call BS, but that's their claim. The reason they need the loans is because they totally misjudged the market.


Also included in that bill is a mandate for at least one E85 pump at every gas station in the country. I think they have to do that by 2018.

I call BS too. Why is it that Ford and GM are the only car companies that can't make the CAFE standards? We are in an energy crisis that effects our national security. Ford and GM need to get on board.
