Apparently a huge supporter and fundraiser of Hillary Clinton has decided to support McCain. She told Fox that she is worried with Pelosi and Obama as the leaders of the Democrats that the party has gone too far left. I found alot of liberal blogs balsting her decision, but no legiotimate sources. I guess you will have to trust me that I saw her on Fox just now.

I wonder if others will follow? I also wonder if any RNC members will support Obama? :D

I agree. The conservative democrats have become part of the middle independants. But the republicans have done the same to their fisical conservatives. I feel more aligned to the Libertarian party, even though I volunteered with my local area Reagan reelection campaign in 1984.

I was a moderate Democrat. I supported the death penalty, was anti-abortion, and wanted welfare to be more closely controlled. I realized that none of the candidates I had to vote for as a Dem agreed with me. I am now a Republican and have never looked back. I am actually a traditionalist, but the Republicans are very close to my personal views.

I am very glad to see some high profile Dems see it like I do. The Dems have gone way too far left.

I guess I'm one of the oldest here, and I can tell you that until Jimmy Carter came along, Dems were nowhere near as left as they are now. Remember, we had Dem leaders during WWII, Korea, and Viet Nam...strong leaders, too.
The sad part is, the Democratic party of my parents/grandparents, is gone. The extreme left now runs the Dems, and it's killing them AND us. Look at the last 3 campaigns for president (including this one), and see who they put on those tickets. Hell, Obama and Biden are #1 and #3 liberals in all of congress, based on their voting records. Ted Kennedy is #2, of course. See a pattern?

I think the Democratic party has a squeaky wheel problem. The far left are the people that go out and march. They bang their drum and stamp their feet. They are the media hogs. So, the leaders think that is where they need to go. But they are ignoring their more moderate supporters.

A lot of those nutsy bastards have big bucks...look at the Hollywood dinner Barry had last night. $28.5k per plate, and he made $9mil. Yep...he really has a connection with the "working class".

In Bidens own words it tells why they will lose this election.
start at time 1.50 if you want to skip some of his bs.

The dems have become the party of the fruits and nuts, not the party of the working man. Until they throw off these kinds of people and come back to the center I think they'll continue to run extreme left candidates. They seem to be controlled/cater to the states on the coasts and do not represent middle america ("fly over" states  ). Well, the "fly over" people still have some control, and we like our bibles and guns.

Nice find!

I agree with him, until they nominate someone who has those credentials, they will continue to lose. Obama doesn't have them anymore than Kerry or Gore did. :D

McCain can save some production money, and run that as an ad. ;) My, Joe sure likes to hear himself talk!

Very cool. I also posted something similar a while back about this subject.

A lot of Democrats share the same sentiment. A lot of people feel disgusted with the performance and direction of the 110th Congress. Not to mention generally being uncomfortable with Obama.

It's not an isolated incident. A lot of moderate Democrats, like myself, are supporting McCain because we are mortified at the alternative. Centrist Democrats have just as much or more disdain for Obama/Pelosi/Biden than most Republicans.

And the conservative Republican is now an endangered species.

I hope that changes once Palin gets in office. We are out there, just not many politicans to bring us out.

I think politics in general have forced the conservative Republicans in to extinction. None of them want to get involved, in what politics have become. I guess, the same could be said for moderate Democrats.

Politics has become such a dirty 'game', the 'normal' people don't want anywhere near it.
