Goldman Sachs, which has been hired to advise WaMu, started an auction several days ago, the newspaper reported. Potential bidders that Goldman has talked to include Wells Fargo, J.P. Morgan Chase and HSBC, the paper said. The Wall Street Journal reported that Citigroup and Wells Fargo have expressed an interest in buying WaMu. The sooner this crap gets settled the better. I retire from the PD in 9 years, this stuff needs to cleared up before I leave.

It will happen no matter who gets the "Big Crib". I find it hard to believe that anyone wants to be President these days. I bet Bush can't wait to move his shit out.

True. It's either a no-win situation, or someone has the chance to be a hero. We are almost to the point where there is nowhere to go, but up. We just can't stand more taxes in any form or fashion, and we need to drill anywhere we possibly can.

I cannot believe I have not seen a thread yet on the new drilling policy that congress voted in.
I wouldn't go as far as a "fun" year, interesting but I bet 99% of the pop. will disagree with fun :p

why so they can just export it to china and india? They dont have to sell it here, they are a business and they will sell it where its worth more. We export alot of the oil we do drill right now, driling for more is just going to increase their profits.
I used to think drilling would drop our prices way down and then i started reading about how much of our oil gets exported now.
Fuck waiting for any "them" to figure this mess out. It's time for all of us to start acting like we're a part of a global economy, and live within the socioeconomic means we've selected for ourselves. The American boom is over. Anyone that wants it easy from here on out can get their money like the Red Cross, as far as I'm concerned.

Even exporting it is better than importing it. I'd rather have 3,562 full tankers floating out in the ocean, than us relying on OPEC for oil.

The point is to flood the entire market with oil... we will get ours cheaper as will other countries.
Easy with the WAMU talk, I bought 100 shares this morning just for fun.
Besides, the Feds are going to make everything better. You guys and your silly doom and gloom talk. What's a few billion in bad debts these days anyway, hell that's nothing!!

WAMU closed @ $4.25 today thanks to the short selling ban. When I bought, I was hoping for a buyout but I'll take whatever money I can get. I'm gonna hold until (A) a buyout or (B) the short ban expires. I did almost pull the trigger though when it opened today.
Wish I would have bought more now.
