I'm part owner in tons of illegal aliens, most of New Orleans and now an insurance giant.

My portfolio rocks!

If I lived in Arlington, I'd have a slice of Jerry's new stadium.

It's a typical insurance company. You only pay them they don't ever pay you.

Man, no shit! We're struggling like everyone else and just learned to do without certain things and cut spending where possible. I'd love to go to the feds and say "Hey shitheads, you can have this business, I just need $10 mil and a nice golden parachute, whatcha got?"

I'd love to see the posts a few months after AIG was allowed to fail.

Capitalist governments are supposed to allow private-sector corporations to fail when they are run using a flawed business model. Aren't you in school for this? ;)

I wouldn't. My larger accounts are insured with AIG, and that would be a PITA to rewrite and send out. But there is always someone else that would love to gobble up all that premium up. But nonetheless, a major corporation should take care of it's business like the rest of us.

What...responsibility for their actions???

Wonder what pay per view would bring in for pubicly broadcast executions of those responsible at the top of these companies??

Who the fuck are you kidding?! Hasn't the government omitted the phrase 'responsibility' from American dictionaries?

It's a damned shame that that kind of thinking isn't even considered these days.

How about American Airlines and Delta? Even with $5,000,000,000 in loans they are still struggling.

I wonder what would happen if a lot of tax payers showed up at AIG and demanded to sit in on the meetings. Get some tv coverage because their claim that, as tax payers, they are shareholders.

Eh...only a few airlines tapped emergency loans after 911. I believe America West and United were two of them. I'm pretty sure Delta and American did not. Actually, American is one of the few that didn't file for bankruptcy protection. In fact, they still have their pension plans intact. That will go by the wayside soon as they just cant compete with the others that have dumped theres on the government. The airline system is another broken model much like the banks and auto industries. The airline model can't make money when oil is over $100 per barrel.

That is the way the chinese handle problems like this.

Put a few of them on the tube, and they would stop this crap cold turkey.
