surround sound

i think i want a surround sound system for my house, it will need to be able to play in the living room, upstairs in the gameroom and outide on the patio. how hard is this gonna be?? how much am i looking at spending??

You just want the actual "surround" in the living room, with speaker extensions in other rooms for music? Most of the new receivers have several speaker outputs to accommodate any of that. The cost of extra speakers (determined by the quality of sound you want) are the only addition you're looking at. Running wires can be a pain, but can be done.

You basically need a multi zone receiver to achieve whole house audio. You can also do it through an audio matrix system.
