Where's a good place to get those stone pieces of edging for landscaping? Lowe's and Home Depot have a small selection and for the footage I'd need it would be a bit pricey. Any places around Frisco, Aubrey, Etc that carry stones and such for this?

Thanks

What about that place on Preston in the Frisco area? I pass it everyday going home from plano to McKinney. Going north from 121, it's on the right hand side. Something called Backyard Designs or something like that. I've been thinking of swinging in to see what they've got.

I've got about 42 feet to do, I can't spend that much on edging :o

You can buy pallets of stone from Alliance Stone. Austin chalk and others. It's about $150 a ton, with 2 tons on a pallet. You can order the thickness you want it to be. I'd go with 4" to line beds with.

I think Home Depot actually sells it by the pallet cheaper then that. I want to say their pallets are just over 2 tons, and are right around $200 per pallet..

There is another landscape supply in McKinney on 380 between 75 & Custer. Right across a down a hair from the Trades Day lot.

And for $10/ft I say hell yes. Does that include the footer? I've laid that shit around a tree in my back yard. It's worth it. As a matter of fact, PM me that guys contact info. I have a buddy looking to get some work done.

The natural stone is a lot more expensive than the prefab stone, plus, the Austin chalk or limestone has a tendency to shear off over time. Plus anything that you do with mortar has a tendency to crack with any shifts in the ground, roots, etc. The free standing stuff is alot more durable and will last a lot longer.

I worked for Pavestone for almost 4 years as a retail sales rep and I can give you some pointers that would make the job very simple. With the way that I do it, you could do an 8inch high wall, 42 feet long in a day. BTW, to do that, you'd need 84 12" stones($3-4each), approx. 10 bags of paver sand($3each) and 3lb sledge($15) and mason's chisel($12). Seriously, its way easier than the natural Austin stone.

Just my $.02

269-353 for DIY vs. ~450 for someone else to do it. Someone else will be doing it at my house all day long :D

Well the wife and I knocked out the front yard in 4hrs Sunday morning. We found some nice stone edging we liked at Lowe's. I spent about $150 for the edging and mulch.
Saved my self quite a bit of cash$$ :D

I'll get some pics posted soon

Be curious to see how it turned out. I want to re-do ours, but haven't decided what type of stone I want to use. Just used a basic brick last year.

Looks nice, my friend does the "edgescape" if anyone is interested. It's like one long curb that can look like rock, stone, brick, whatever in any color.
