The house we are renting has 3 small hot water heaters up in the attick. I have always noticed the water is steaming hot... too hot. So i went up there and all 3 were set on the max setting ( above 150 deg). I put them on the middle setting of 125.

Should this help on electricity usage or do hot water heaters not use much electricity?

Not sure why we have 3 for this tiny house, i guess one for each bathroom and one for the kitchen.

What do yall keep your heaters set at?

it should cut down a little bit do to the fact that it does have to heat up as often as it would with the high temp

But I've never seen a (hot) water heater in an attack. That's medieval shit right there.

Tap water in Texas is already hot, so he is technically heating up hot water. Go drink some Colorado tap water and see what I'm talking about. ;)

If you do not run out of hot water with the new setting, I would lower it a little more even.

No need to go to CO. Water from any well will do the trick. CO tap water is cold as fuck, though. Like, hurt your gums cold.

That's some funny shit.

The best water I've ever drank came from a well outside of Preston, Kansas.

The coldest was from a well when we lived in Bismark, ND.

My daughters take long ass showers. I need to set the water heater temp lower to encourage them to hurry up :)

It doesnt seem like that would be very efficient having a small water heater for each bathroom. Thats three heater elements running versus one for one large tank. Hot water delivery to each bath may be faster. Surely there was another reason for running multiple water heaters?

The reason is there is no room for a large a water heater. 2 old ladies( My wife's great aunts) renovated this 100 yr old house about 10 yrs ago. They couldnt even remember how many the put in there much less know why lol.

I could chase the pipes but its not worth it to me.
