I've seen guys walk off and later find out they had season ending ACL tears... I think you can walk on a torn ACL but can't make quick lateral movements... also the pain has to be pretty intense.

You can still walk with a torn ACL, but there is no way to play 15 games and be effective with it. They are reporting that the Pats are bringing in Simms for a workout, so who knows really.

Yes, you can, but lateral movement is what it affects. It stabilizes the knee from left to right. Almost every ACL tear includes an MCL tear also.

In the best of scenario's, an ACL tear is a straight up motherfucker. 5 months re-hab, and some folks are never the same. If this is the case, he will be affected in some capacity from now on.

Neither one of these guys are going to step in and fill Brady's shoes as easily as some think. In fact, I've already heard PLENTY of radio/tv personalities say they won't even make the playoffs this year. That was my initial thought, but I forgot all about Goodell handing them another 16-0 season on a silver platter this year.

No shit, and I've got him in two different leagues. He was a solid QB last year, went 18-3. I figured them adding talent at WR would help him out a lot this year, but apparently not. He was on quite a few people's sleeper list. :o

you would have to be stupid or a fortune teller to think brady wasnt an early pick until 12:00pm sunday. some folks are stupid as hell.
we have a RB league. so much so that your first 2 rounds should probably be running backs. DESPITE that, brady was number one in points last year in that league. i picked him up at the 1st pick in the third round last year (he was the 2nd qb picked behind manning). this year he was a first rounder.

Now, once I actually went to the doctor and had surgery... I was down for 2 months in a cast/boot, 2 months of rehab but within 6 months was running 18 miles at a clip again.
Ironically, Greg Ellis and I received the ruptures at the same time. Fucker came back a hella of a lot stronger than I did but then again he is a Pro and had about 10 years on me. :D
Two years later (at 45) it still takes me about 30 minutes for my ankle to work correctly after waking up.

Greg is a decent guy. When I moved to NC he was the first person I met, in Mr. Moore's art class:D Practiced against him a few times but he was going to UNC in the fall.
I dislocated my ankle and opted out of surgery (I was 17 at the time) and it does better some days than others, but is generally garbage. I was doing tires recently with back peddling and could feel the fluid sloshing around in there. I have a feeling that surgery may be coming :(

I'd take douchebag Brady over Eli Manning any day of the week; the only reason I'd take Romo over Brady is because I'm a big homer. :o

Tony, Momo, and coop - I never said he didn't get picked...just not early on...You guys honestly think someone is going to pick Brady, who went to the superbowl with a jacked up leg no less, over Romo, a Manning...even Favre (which is laughable...but who is hurt now?) from the git go? Come on:rolleyes: - you guys know damn good and well you'd go with a winner before a loser...
Umm yeah you'd be a fool to pick either Manning or Favre over Brady. Brady and Brees were the top 2 QBs in my eyes before the season started. Romo was 3rd because I worried about his receivers. And anyone that admits they have a kicker as their secret weapon is someone I don't take seriously when it comes to Fantasy Football.
He went down like Alvin Mack and just hopes he'll be able to play again!lol

Someday...dunno when - you and I are going to sit at a table and get trashed and laugh about what I have (or haven't) posted...http://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif (and think up a few new ones!)
