Want new a/c ducts

Want to replace all my ducts in my 1100sqft house. Anybody know some company or body that does these things and does a good job. Called some place earlier and they quoted me $2000 over the phone. Seems pretty high to me.

I had 2000sf house reducted in crawl space for $1200 but I had HVAC unit installed, also. They got 6 Mexicans to crawl around and it was done in 6 hours. I thought, man, I could have done that myself.

We had ours done about a year ago... it was about 2 grand. Home warranty paid for a new unit but not the ducts. It was well worth it....

just curious, why do you want to replace them?

The guy that lived there before us smoked. I know they can be cleaned but they are leaking, some of them have tears in them, and some are kinked. Whoever did them before did not do a very good job. If its really expensive I will probably just do them myself. I just wanted to find out about what it would cost. $2000 just seems really high for 5 ducts.

I would wait until the winter and do it yourself. I would do mine, but I have a 30 year old 1 1/2 story and would need to remove sheet rock which will cost me more than it is worth.
