We went to Flying P Ranch south of Hico with a few thousand acres. Great place, great food and great hunting,www.flyingpoutdoors.com. Started out at dawn and shoot 6 within a hour, we wanted to save the other 6 for a evening hunt. The bag limit is 12 in the south zone which sucked but what can you do. This morning was not so good, the birds were scarce and flying high. I shoot 3 but only was able to recover one, the place is covered in thick sun flower patches and wheat. After a few hours of that garbage we said the hell with it and packed up and came home. Anyhow i forgot the camera at home but took this pic before the went in the freezer. http://i183.photobucket.com/albums/x294/boykintexas/CIMG1108.jpg

I miss dove hunting... Just don't have the time right now to make the trip :(

Favorite recipe: Soak the breast in buttermilk for several hours or overnight in the refrigerator. Wrap in bacon secured with a toothpick and a jalapeno. Cook for a several minutes on an open grill, then wrap all the breast into a tin foil pouch and cook over low heat on the grill or in the oven.

I went out in Nevada, had 6 by 7:30 a.m. Didn't even see one on the horizon from then until we went in at about 8:30 a.m. Went back at 5:00, had one within in the first 5 minutes, didn't see any other birds till we packed it in at 6:30 or so.

Going north of Abilene next weekend....took out 70 in two days between two people (yes I know), and most were my doing, and most were whitewings. Hope it is just as good this time too.
