put the 16 gauge down and buy a 12 gauge...

and get some 00 Buckshot (also known as tactical buckshot)...a 2 3/4" 12 gauge round will typically hold 9 pellets of 00 buckshot. It's messy, but highly effective

My first round is heavy bird/game shot followed by 00buckshot. My theory is that in the heat my first round may not be 100% effective and I do not want 00 totaly missing my moving target and penetrating walls etc. Hit em with the bird followed imediatley by another well aimed shot of buck. The bird and the sound will stop them and you are panicing hence the reason why you fired more than one round. Just my thought on it.

If I had a good surefire on the forearm I would skip the bird/game shot and use the light to stun and stop them.

Dimes won't do shit, as for the bird shot that could potentially lead to a lot of hassle later.

00 buck in my Remington. I would pick #1.

What happens with that bird shot when you DON'T miss on the first shot? Shooting to wound = fail. Razrbak, a Mossberg 500 JIC is cheap as hell, and worth it for an entry level home defense 12ga.

yeah what i f you need that first shot?

Answer 1 and 2 are the only ones that make any sense.
2 might reduce wall penetration a bit , but it also might now work good enough to stop someone from shooting back.
