I was just wondering how much Ak 47s go for at gun shows? Im interested in buying one, especially before november and want to get one for a right price. Ive been doing some research on youtube/google/gunshop websites and Ive found out that The Romanian WASR-10 is the cheapest one. Ive found em for 380.00 and was wondering how cheap they go for at a gun show. Also if it's worth buying. I heard that the yugo AKs are the best variant domestically and would also like to know how much those go for at gun shows. I found a Yugo for 499.99 on a website.. i forget which one. Any information would be much appreciated.. Also I read something about SAR1 last night before I went to bed. Please school me on AKs... i want to get an ak(atleast 1) before i get an AR-15.

I am not so sure about your local gun store guy as Chinese AK's haven't been imported in a while and the ones that are available (polytech and norinco) go for big bucks. I got $1100 + a month ago for a polytech I had. He is probably thinking of SKS's. If he doesn't know the difference then his wisdom might be suspect. I surveyed the FW gun show this weekend and the yugo's were close to$500. They are a good buy if you want an underfolder. They are available by a local dealer for $463

The WASR 10's are a good deal (in a basic AK) and generally are reliable. They are $392 at the above web site. In a recent AK training class where over 1000 rds were fired in two days the WASR was the only AK (out of 20 or so) that didn't malfunction in some way. They included some hand made double throw down, super AK's. There are also some crappy ones out there. Century will make it good if you get a bad one.
I would certainly buy an AK or two now as prices are likely to go up (and not just because of the election of a dem president). The imported kits that century and others build the AK's on are no longer imported with barrels and even the kits without barrels are much higher. Eventually they will sell all of the assembled ones on the market and then have to put new barrels on any future AK's. You will pay more in the future.
Building an AK doesn't save much compared to the current prices for assembled ones. I am building five AK's from kits and receivers that I have had for a while but I would not be doing it if I had to buy kits at today’s prices (not to mention the tooling).

I got my Romanian WASR 3 (.223) off this board for $300 with a few boxes of ammo and a couple of 20 round mags. It's a very nice shoot too. Everything is tight and the mags go in and out with ease.

If Obama wins, speculations and anticipations of ban and restrictions will drive prices up.

Some guy on glocktalk.com was trying to trade his saiga off for a pistol. The guy wasn't interested so I offered to buy the saiga for cash.
Stores generally want a LOT more, I got really lucky. Just keep turning over rocks, I had been looking for a Saiga for about 3 months now...
Cheaper than dirt has almost everything you need to convert it. Dinzag Arms also has the same parts custom made for the saiga to ensure 100% compliance. I wish I had bought his FCG because the one I bought has 2 hooks in it which makes it a pain when the receiver only HAS ONE HOOK SPOT...grrrr *grinds away at trigger hook*

Nice! Very good deal. I picked up an M70AB2T earlier today. Is that a good rifle? I think I might have paid 20 bucks more, but it came with 2 mags for $520
