Anyone seen or done any clean installations using the rear seat area of a Fox Vert? I'm looking to get a decent system (head unit, fronts, doors, amp and sub) installed without breaking the bank. I want full use of the trunk, so I was thinking amp and sub in the rear seat area.

I'd like it to be a stealth-ish install so that people looking in can't see subs and an amp in the back. I'd also want the box secured to avoid the snatch and grab if I decide to leave the top down.

I was also wondering about this mass back carpet that 50resto has:

I plan on replacing the carpet and this looks like a pretty good solution for sound deadening as well.

Anyone have any experiences?

Thanks for the help.

Just FYI, I have a Kicker 10inch CompVR Sub...bout 6 months old For sale in the classifieds if you're interested. Like new, still have box, manuals, stickers, etc

I have an 04 Vert, and like you wanted to still use some of my trunk. I'm running one 10inch Kicker in a single enclosure with a Kicker Amp bridged to about 325watts RMS. Sounds damn good for one 10", and leaves me trunk space.

Thanks BJ. I'd like to find an installer before I start purchasing equipment. I'll keep the sub in mind if it will work with the setup though.

With your sub in the trunk, can you hear the bass with the top down at highway speeds?

Yes, but to a certain extent. I also have an O/R Bassani X-Pipe with Flow 40's... :D

EW and I have talked a bit through PM before. I'm guessing he gets quite a few PM's though and I'm sure it is tough to keep up with all of the conversations.

It's better if you call him. Typing out everything kind of sucks.

My dad has a 5.0 convertible, and you can't hear ANYTHING but tunes going down the highway at 80-90 with top down... of course, it's not your average stereo in a vert either... its got about 1200 watts going to a 12W7. :o

it all depends on what u want to do. u can use only ur backseat if u want but i highly doubt it will be stealthy enough cause i had a simlar setup in my 96 2 12in subs and 2 amps all in the back seat. it was clean.
