I'm mainly trying to check out different types of tree's, bushes, flowers, etc. I can't think of any sites that you can find this stuff on, or even purchase it from as well?
Thanks

This isn't the best time of year for landscaping as far as variety goes. Late Feb and into March is the best time to pick plants because they will all be blooming and you will get a better idea of what they look like. We always replant in early march of every year and with proper plants and proper watering they last well into the fall season.
Them's ain't bushes, them's shrubs.
You might look into regional landscaping ideas that use less water. That should narrow your options.

As far as just getting ideas, you could go to swimming pool builders' websites, obviously they will showcase their best work which is usually accompanied by very nice landscaping. Don't worry about not knowing the plant names, any nursery worth a damn will be able to identify them.

You can search by type, size, bloom color, foliage color, drought tolertant, by zone, etc. Very helpful.

i got a book a while back at home depot or lowes that was pretty good. it's called "texas home landscaping" and pretty much covers native plants/flowers, some design ideas, and how to do different kinds of borders and fencing. it's at least worth thumbing through next time you go.

I got to book stores to look for books that feature native vegation/drought resistant vegitation. Fall is a good time of year to purchase new plants, the nurserys always mark it down real cheap so they can get rid of it before winter.

We're bringing in new shipments at full price. :D The box stores are the ones who mark everything down.
