I don't know of anyone in the area that has parts kits anymore. Cheaper than Dirt and Military Gun Supply did have some but I think they are out. Give MGS a call and see if they have any left. There may be some at the upcomming gun shows. Be prepared to pay if you find a kit with a barrel as no barrels have been imported since the first of 2008. There are lots a places that you can mail order a kit but almost all have no barrels.

I assume that you are wanting to build one from a flat so that the bad guy that might be in power in November cannot find you and take away your evil, bullet spraying, baby killing, home defense tool.

I have the flat bending jigs and assembly tools and they are not cheap either. Unless you are really wanting to be off the radar with your AK's then I would suggest that you just buy a built Romanian and a Yugo Underfolder. Even RPK’s are available cheap. These cheap prices will not stay this way as all of the kits that had barrels get used up. There are companies beginning to make barrels so the supply may work out but the day of $89 Romanian kits are gone.

If you want to talk about AK building, PM me.

was looking at kits back in May (trying to be cheap). I dont think cheaper than dirt advertises them on their web site anymore. The only $100 kits I could find were missing the barrel and front trunion. I was looking at the $200 kits (matching front trunion and barrel) and those are getting very rare. There are some $300 kits floating around but at that cost its probably more economical to get a built ak.
