Just bought a G23 (compact .40) b/c I was tired of carrying my full size Kimber everywhere. I am looking into night sights and concealed holsters - know there's lots of Glock owners on here so any input anyone may have would be great. Was looking into tritium night sights like my Kimber has and a Comp-Tac MTAC holster for it . . . unsure if there's something better or more functional for it.
What sights or holsters would you recommend? I'm brand new to Glocks and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not going to recommend a holster because what I like may not be what anyone else likes...
BUT, I have night sights on both of my Glocks. They are Trijicons and I like them. If you want a bigger dot, go with Meprolight night sights. They are about the same price as Trijicons. In fact, I believe Glock uses Meprolights as their factory night sight.

with any gun the holster will just depend on what works best for you. as far as the sights i would go with something you are comfortable using. if you like the sights on the Kimber and they work well for you, i would get the same ones.

Glock uses Trijicon for factory night sights. I've heard you can mail your slide to Glock and for $80 or so dollars they'll mount there factory night sights on there for you. Just a thought (need to look into it myself).
What kind of holster are you looking for? IWB? Paddle? Belt? I have a few Comp-Tac Kydex holsters and I'm pretty happy with them.

I thought they were Mepros...In fact, I got my info from Glockworld.com...not to say that everything on the internet is accurate...

Anyway, if you want Trijicons, you can order the sights from Opticsplanet.com for $84.15 with free shipping. The part number for the Trijis is GL01 for all 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 Sig, .45 GAP and .380 models.
I bought both of my sets from Opticsplanet it came quick. The first set cost me $15 plus tax to install, the second $20 plus tax...not even a year apart

You weren't kidding about glocktalk.com . . .
I love my Comp-Tac MTAC IWB for my Kimber, so I'm looking in that general direction. Just asking b/c different guns feel differently. My old Beretta felt great in the small of my back, but the Kimber wasn't having any of that. Kimber night sights are great but somewhat hard to see at the range and in certain light . . . so I guess I'm looking down the road of highly visible both night and day. I'll check into those mentioned . . . any more ideas?

I carry a g30 concealed and love the Trilux H3 sights. I carry in an Uncle Mikes Sidekick, it is a soft side IWB (inside waist band) size 15.
You need to get touchy feely for holsters to see what you like. I bought 3 before I decided on this one a couple of years ago.

The Tru Glo's are great day and night. I've tried the Mepro's, Trilux and Trijicon and the Tru Glo's are all round much brighter in my opinion. Check them out at the Big State Glock booth at the show this weekend. My last set was just over $100 installed. The Fobus paddle holsters are comfortable, concealable and inexpensive too.
Happy Glockin!

Maybe it's changed recently but I was pretty sure Trijicon's are what came on Glock's from the factory. I need to get some for mine :(

Where is the show this weekend? I'll have to check that out as I need some night sights on my 27. Fobus is OK for the money but I never cared for the material (you ever see the video of someone ripping the holster off when they went for the gun?) and prefer Kydex over the material they use.

Well, what's funny is one of the local PDs issues their duty Glocks with Trijis...but I don't know if they are coming from the factory that way or if their armorer is putting them on when they get them in.
I put Trijis on both of mine, but Hoppe's Elite solvent takes the paint right off. I'll have to look again, but I think the rear sight on my 19 doesn't have any of the white paint left that was around the Tritium tubes (for daytime sighting)...
Someone several years ago told me about the paddle holsters breaking. Something about if someone goes for the gun they only need to twist the holster to break the plastic.

Ya, Fobus holsters are sorta weak about breaking like that.
I was pretty sure the Trijicon's were a factory option a while back. I've got some of the Glock "factory" magazines that were sent to me for a while. I'll see if that's where I saw it.

It may have been that way a few years ago...you know how business operates, whoever offers a quality product cheaper will get the bid...so it wouldn't surprise me if they've changed suppliers a few times.
I saw somewhere in the last few days that you can buy a Glock with the fixed plastic crappy sights, the adjustable sights, Glock factory night sights, Trijicons, or Meprolights...I don't know if they are offered from the factory like that or if someone is switching out parts before putting them on the shelf...

Couldn't find what I was looking for about Trijicon's being factory but I did find the article I was talking about where Glock will install factory night sights on your Glock if you mail them the slide.
This is from the Glock Annual 2004.
The standard sights on most Glocks are a polymer white outline rear sight with a polymer front sight with a white dot. Some people do not like a white ouline rear sight, prefering plain black. It is easy enough to just cover the white outline or white dot with some black paint or magic marker. You can slo turn the rear sight around so that the black side faces the shooter.
Should you wish to fit your Glock with tritium night sights, Glock recently began offering a new factory steel front and rear sight with tritium inserts as an extra cost option on newly ordered guns. Is is also available for factory retrofit to Glocks with other type sights, but most be installed by a Glock armorer with the proper installation tools. At only $57, this superb sight is far less expensive than the equivalent aftermarket sights that are available with comparable performance.
I'm going to email Glock and see what the current cost is and if they still install it if you mail the slide. From what I'm seeing in the magazine the sights they are offering are Meps.
