I've been tossing around the idea for awhile now of getting me a pistol to keep in my house. Something about not having any kind of protection in the new house made me a little uneasy. I ended up buying a used Glock 26 9mm from a coworker. It looks brand new and hasn't had many rounds put through it. I actually shot this one and an XD9 the same day and actually liked the XD9 a little better (felt better in my hand). I shot them both about the same, but the XD9 was a little more comfortable. HOWEVER, I got a great deal on this one and couldn't pass it up. I figured if I ever decided to change, I could still sell this one for what I have in it or more. We went to the Bullet Trap in Plano to try them out, btw.......

I carry an XD9, but you'll like the Glock fine. I've had a few Glock's, and they are fine weapons. I do prefer the XD, but the Glock is a very close 2nd. Use it and get comfortable with it, and you'll probably never want to change.

if the XD9 feels better in your hand, buy it... what's $100 over the course of owning/shooting a gun for 5yrs+

I didn't read enough... didn't realize he'd already bought it :o

FWIW, I prefer the Glock because it looks mo' rad :p

I own a Glock 17 and 22, and they are great, too. I just like to carry the XD. :o

Yeah Forrest, I already bought the Glock. I got a really good deal on it ($300) and couldn't pass it up. The main difference to me was the grip felt slightly longer on the XD which made it not feel quite as "top heavy" as the Glock. The one I shot had one magazine that was standard and one with the Pearce extension which I think helps. I'll shot it for awhile and if it bugs me too much, I'll end up selling it to buy the XD.

I like mine w/ the extensions... feels good, and I know it's superficial, but it looks a hell of a lot better than the XD :o

I carry an XD9 and LOVE IT. You can't go wrong with a Glock either. They are both top notch and very user friendly.

I went and bought a 15 round magazine and a magazine sleeve today. Gonna see if I like the feel of a slightly longer grip.

i was stuck between the glock and XD too, but ended up with a baby eagle since it felt the best to me. I've been looking at getting a glock 30.

My best friend has a baby eagle in .40 cal. That is one of the nicest pistols I've shot

Had some night sights put on today. I ended up going with the Meprolight Tru-Dots. They're tritium and they installed them for me at The Bullet Trap for no extra charge. I'll check 'em out tonight once I get home....
