And I kicked its ass! I only missed 1 question on the paper test, and scored 245 out of 250 on the shoot test.
I have gotten a little better since my last outting and pics.

Nice shooting..!
I have seen people fail - not necessarily the written test, but the practical. I personally worked with an older woman, and she could not get past the range test. A little Beretta Tomcat (.32 ACP ?), but so nervous that she choked (x3 times). We didn't pass her - just that simple.

They gave you your score and let you keep the target?
When I took mine back in January of this year, they would not even let us look at the target, nor would they give us our score. They only said pass/fail and destroyed the targets in a shreder as soon as they took them down. They said any record of your score can be a huge liability in court - they gave us a long story about it, and it seemed to make sense to me.

When you miss the target twice how do you score a 245?
Edit - I'm talking about those two outside of the white lines, I know that is not technically missing the target.

The scoring is like this...
Anything within the 8, 9, 10 rings is scored as 5 points.
Anything withing the 7 ring is scored as 4 points
Anything outside of the 7 ring but still on the silouhette (sp?) is scored as a 3.
Any shots that are touching a ring are given the higher score.
The OP had 47 shots inside the 8 ring = 235 points.
1 shot in the 7 ring = 4 points
2 shots ( 3 points each) outside the 7 ring but still on the silouhette = 6 points.
235+4+6=245

My instructor mentioned that they do that for the instructor course, but he let us keep our targets. Mine would help, it just proves I'm not a marksman! :D
