Do bikes require a certain type of coolant or is the coolant the same as cars use? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

bikes use a silicate free coolant. regular car antifreeze isn't good for bikes. you can buy silicate free coolant from walmart. its in a black bottle with a big rig truck on it.
i personally would recommend going to the dealer and getting the right coolant. this way there is no doubt that you are putting in the right stuff. i dont know what bike you have, but i run Honda HP coolant in my 954RR.
**edit
bob might not be too far off tho. you may be able to use the prestone universal coolant. it is "supposed" to work in all cars/ cooling systems.

Or you could run distilled water and water wetter, but be sure before cold weather gets here you get it changed back to anitfreeze or your motor wont be so happy.
