Never touch the trigger until you are ready to use it. There have been thousands of UNLOADED guns that have killed people. You just got to make it a habbit to never touch.

Nice. I like mine. I ditched the pistol grip for a Knox Industries. I needed it because I'm a pretty big guy and all the other stocks didn't feel right.

lol, FALSE!!!
I understand what you're trying to convey here, but an unloaded weapon never killed anyone... I finger fuck my firearms often, but only when they're unloaded!! and how do I know that they're unloaded? because I KNOW they're unloaded!!!
I treat every firearm as if it's locked/loaded untill I clear it, and then I don't because it isn't

The shoulder thing that goes up!!Seriously, dude! How were people able to kill other people before the advent of the uber lethal barrel shroud?

So, while defending your home, you have a barrel shroud to protect you from the heat of multiple rounds cookin' up that barrel. Remember that those shrouds snag on things...sheets, nightgowns, boxers, curtin strings...better ditch the shroud if it's for actual defence.
But, if it's doing dual purpose of defending and giving braging rights for a nasty looking gun you got the right iron :-)
My under-the-bed shotgun is an 1187 with a shortie stock and a 17in barrel, all smoothed down and carrying 4 rounds of #4.
Nothing to snag,
nothing to glisten,
nothing a man can walk away from,
but will not typically go through more than one wall.
I even have a spare 20 inch barrel to put on it just in case I need to use it and have the cops "catalog" it later.

I think what he was trying to say is that people kill themselves or others by assuming a gun is not loaded and failing to check before applying finger on the trigger. It's just like all the accidental shootings you read/hear about where the dumbass' excuse is "I was cleaning it and it went off..." Why the FUCK would anyone have live ammunition around a firearm when cleaning it? If you (not saying "you") want to test the action buy some dummy rounds for the love of all things holy!

Im not much at identifying by site, is that a mossberg 500?
If so that was my first gun too! I usually dont like things that serve no purpose what so ever, but those heat shields are pretty neat.
my first gun was purchased dec. 07 less than a year later, i have 3 :)

i agree with cooter you can see that there is no round in the chamber because BOLT IS LOCKED TO THE REAR

Trigger discipline is still a good habit to learn though regardless if a weapon is or is not loaded. One of the first things taught in a firearms safety class is ALWAYS treat every firearm like it is loaded and do not put a finger on the trigger until ready to fire.

I'm with the asshole above me on this one. NEVAR put your finger on the trigger until you're ready to go. It's called discipline for a reason. It's a basic rite of training in the military for a reason. People get killed by carelessness for a reason. My boys are trained that all of my guns are always loaded and ready to fire. Even if they're not.
I became a believer when we were out shooting one day and my buddy handed me his Red Hawk. I knew it was hot and as I was bringing it up on target went ahead and just BARELY laid my finger on the trigger in preparation and promptly blasted the ground several feet short of target. I had no clue the thing had a feather weight trigger on it... :o

Don't you think it's time you got over yourself or do you like being a whiny faggot? The only reason why you're all bent is because I've made fun of you in the past and you got all bitter and started crying yet I've read you do the same thing to others. You're one of the biggest hypocrites on this board.
BTW...
I knew it was hot and as I was bringing it up on target went ahead and just BARELY laid my finger on the trigger in preparation and promptly blasted the ground several feet short of target.
The next rule taught in firearms safety is never put your finger on the trigger until you have positioned your weapon at what you intend to shoot.
