I live in an apartment complex that is locked into service by ATT Home Entertainment (http://www.attheonline.com/). They basically provide DirecTV service to all of the apartments through one dish. No other service provider is allowed to service the apartments. You are allowed to have your own satellite dish, but I don't have a view of the south from my apartment.

Are there any other options out there for HD programming? I had Dish and DirecTV installers out a few years ago and they couldn't come up with a solution. I figured something might have changed in the last few years.

For your situation, it seems only antenna is your option. :(

Plus there is always blu-ray!

Yeah, I've been using an OTA antenna for the last few years. I've got a DirecTV installer coming out today that is willing to do a long cable run and permission from the apartment complex to mount a dish on the South side of the building. We'll see how it turns out.

thats kinda how mine is. its mounted on a pole from the ground at the south side of the building with about a 30 yard run of coaxial.
