How to connect ur laptop to Tv?

I told a friend about watch-movies.net and he likes the site but wants to be able to watch the movie on his TV from his laptop is this possible? I don't know what type of laptop or tv(lol) yet but was wondering is there a common way of doing this?

The laptop and TV are really the deciding factor here; it all hinges on the two of them. The most common way will be via S-Video cable, but it's not going to look stellar.

At fry's they make a converter peice that takes a standard blue monitor cable and converts it to RCA level that will obviously fit any TV. I had to get one for a storm tracker company that had to run their laptops on a big overhead screen we installed (at car toys) and the video quality was actually pretty good. Check out FRY's

Thanks guys I will check tom what kind of TV and labtop he has I hope the S video will work that's really cheap.
