View Full Version : Best outdoor range in DFW area?

I'm wanting to take my wife out shoosting tomorrow and was just curious where the best outdoor range is? The last few times I've been has been to bullet trap and I want to try something different.

I went to the little elm one a few years ago, but I was told it's closed now? It was pretty nice.

Alpine is in arlington/mansfield area. i gone there a couple time but the range officer is a dick sometimes.

I think Winchester/elm fork on Luna and Northwest Hwy is open again. I haven't been there after the rebuild though.

I am pretty sure Backwoods closed a while back. Elm Fork is very close to you. I live in Farmers Branch and can hear the guns in the distance on a clear day....

I worked on the shotgun range 70 - 72.
We never shot skeet, but always went there to sight in our deer rifles. Damn that was a long time ago. :o

Grant I can probably take you to the Dallas Gun Club. Its in lewisville by vista ridge mall.

What about on the Ft Worth/Mid Cities side? Anything besides Alpine?

quail creek, but that is more towards Denton. But dont expect to be friends with the people there.

We ended up going out to Elm Fork today..it was pretty nice, although pretty expensive too.

is their rifle range open yet? As soon as I pick up a scope for my new Rem 700 SPS I'll need to take it somewhere to get it sighted in...preferably somewhere that has a range longer than 25 yards... :(

Yes, it looked like it was. 100 yards, right? They had some advertisements saying it was completed I believe.
