<---- Rides inspected.
I have no idea why someone would want to ride an inspection. It's certainly not a money issue or emissions. I've probably done it once or twice before but I hadn't realized my inspection sticker had expired.

Those without inspection are generally doing it because they don't have insurance.

Well to be honest I didnt even think about an inspection once I bought the bike and put the plate and registration on it. I was pulled over the other night and he mentioned it, didnt give me a ticket or anything, just mentioned it to me. I am going to get it inspected tomorrow before the ride on sunday.

Inspected, one less reason for a ticket when pulled over for something else.

Just out of curiosity, what all is involved in a bike inspection? For some reason, my new bike doesn't have a sticker anywhere on it. I asked the kid I bought it from and he said it was on the fender that he eliminated. I need to go get it done, but wasn't sure what all was looked at. I've got all the safety stuff (turn signals, horn, etc.) Do they ride it? Inspect brakes? I'm also in the process of changing my exhaust. Are there any changes that can affect it passing or not?

where I go, not a bike shop, they have me ride a certain speed to a line then stop. Flash my signals, honk the horn, remove the old sticker and apply new one. Takes about 5 minutes. A bike shop will ride it.

I'm not sure on that one. My bike is stock except for the slipon. You can probably getaway with out them due to arm signals, but have to have brake light for sure

Place I get it done in Duncanville just checks headlights (he always gets on me that I have a light out), signal lights, and brake lights. Pretty much it and he's done in 10 minutes with the sticker on my bike ready.

Haven't had my bikes inspected since 2004... Been pulled over twice, they never asked about it.

Same here, and he takes a look at my tires. If one particular employee is there he rides it, other than that I do.

you can use arms but for inspection if the blinkers work at all then they all have to work... if they don't work at all then you can get away with arms
kind of like the windshield on my buggy.. if it has one you have to have wipers... if no windshield.. no wipers

Just had mine done the day before the dublin ride. They did not check anything but the insurance. The guy at the dealer did tell me that if you have turn signals on the bike then they have to work. By the way no one has mentioned the best part. It only costs what, 14.50 instead of the 39 for the car. danm emission tests.

I bought my bike new in '03, still have it and never went and got it inspected after the first one went out. Talk about a waste of time and money. Been pulled over PLENTY of times and never even asked about it or ticketed for it. I'll use the $15 for something else.
<---Insured and licensed. :D

i just got mine inspected today. I do not have any blinkers on it, I have insurence. I took it in, he asked for my insurance, wrote it up and then asked where I wanted my sticker. Told him dont care, since I dont have the original spot to put it, he put it on my rear hugger. I only got the inspection to not have a reason to be pulled over on sundays ride.

It's safety only. The guy here always does my bike so he usually just puts one on there with the expiration date of my insurance.
