2 times the bottom of the gasket on the crank case cover has let go and poored oil out of the motor.

both times this has happned the battery seems like it goes dead b/c it wont turn over....

1. could too much oil cause this if it was overfilled?
2. plugged vent line

excessive crank case pressure is the only thing i can think of that would cause that gasket to fail.

this wasn't at High RPM's. stalled the bike out, tried to start it and it wouldnt turn over, look down and oil is pouring out. both times this has happened it was the same scenario.

going WAY out on a limb here, but perhaps this is the reason why i was getting the "dead battery" symptom.

If there was too much pressure built up from either too much oil or the vent line being kinked or plugged...the battery couldnt turn the starter over. that would be the reason why it seems like the battery dies when this happens.

this morning they fired it right up, no hesitation at all b/c all the pressure was removed?

Figure out anything yet?

What kind of bike is it?
Yes, way too much oil is a possibility. A clogged vent line or mis plumbed vent line, once again a possibility.

If there is enough crankcase pressure to not spin the motor over and poop the gasket out then yeah. The harder it is to turn the motor over then, the more amperage you pull. Therefore the faster you will drain the battery trying to start it.

i'm 90% sure i saw the oil view window in the crank case completely full. i've read that its only supposed to be to the bottom of the viewer. so i'm praying thats been the problem.

i told the shop to check the vent tube, but its a BRAND NEW bike.

Hopefully so or if not at least something simple. Fortunately crankcase problems are usually minor on new bikes. KTM motors are usually pretty reliable so, it should be minor.

I thought someone took too much Viagra to get excessive "crank" pressure

lets hope so b/c the shop working on it hasn't fixed it yet.
