Looking to get very hot .357 loads but not wanting to use reloads.

Going into a GP100 so I'm pretty sure they will handle just about anything but want to see the 600+ ft/lbs potential the .357 can have.

What rounds and where can i get them?

Its a shame you don't want to reload. I like to think of the .357 as a hot rod round, quite a few ways to reload one. The GP100 should handle just fine, althoughb I traded mine off for a Vaquero Bisley. Whatever you do, don't by soemone else's reloads.

Don't remember any 600+ ft lb loadings off the top of my head but I do know that Corbon's 110gr load at 1500fps is 555 ft lbs.

Years ago, I used a hot round from Federal. It was a 158gr. jacketed hollow-point, but that's all I can remember. I hunted some with it, until I went with a Model 57 Smith (.41 mag).

I was looking more for a hunting load but some of those double tap loads looked very promising.

Guns and Ammo Mag have a nice ballistic chart to look up specs of common factory ammo. It's handy for comparing specs of various manufs.

Buffalo Bore has some stout stuff.

what about these they make almost 800 ft/lb with a 140 grain bullet. I know they are for lever rifles but what would they do in a 4" revolver?

Hornady's website (https://www.hornady.com/shop/?page=ballistics/popup&product_sku=92755) lists 1440 fps/644 ft.-lbs. of energy at the muzzle (and has "handgun" in parentheses after the cartridge/load), but it doesn't say with what barrel.

Some of those "hot" loads from vendors are achieved by using 9mm bullets.

Some of those "hot" loads from vendors are achieved by using 9mm bullets.Interesting. Is that for the different profiles available or because the extra .002" bore clearance cuts down on friction enough that they can get more velocity with less pressure? Some of the reloaders on GlockPost have talked about using .357" bullets in 9mm cartridges because the bores are often closer to .357" than 9mm.
