I have been looking at lots for sale and one of them that I'm interested in has a REALLY old run down house on it. Does anyone have an idea what it would cost to bulldoze and remove a house?
I don't know shit about demo so I dont know exactly what's entailed?

We'd have to build some type of block that would take the brunt of the force and distribute it out over an area. A chain may just cut right through.

I got a quote of 5 grand to level mine. They leave you with a clean spot to build a new house. We decided to sell and buy a new house. The house is still in good shape we just wanted somthing bigger and to keep the two acres. Its for sale if anyone is interested.

I'll bring the truck!
I have already toted the heavy side of a doublewide. :o
I've got a 4x4 Cherokee and some chain. I'm sure I could do some serious damage. The only thing you'd need to do is haul off what's left over. I'm serious, I'd do my share for free....

If it is outside the city limits, throw a bomb ass party, and blow that fucker up! The house pulling contest sounds like a good idea too. Just have a main chain, and have smaller chains wrap around key spots on the house.

A buddy of mine bought a lot in Krum w/ a house that needed to go-he contacted the local fire dept and "donated" the house to them for training. It was actually pretty cool, they came out and did training on the house for the firefighters, when they left there wasn't much left at all...

Also check with any filmakers in the area, they might need a house to burn down or blow up for their movie ;)

Could go through the house like the Terminator and just blow studs apart, practice your demo skills and so forth.

Do it like mythbusters, set off a bunch of roach spray kits inside and then strike a match. Boom.
Aaron... you better call me if some redneck action happens to take down that house!!

dozer work will run you as low as $50 and hour to $400 an hour with 4 hour min. and they will charge a delivery and pickup fee rolled in to the price. and as for the haul off each dump is different on price pay by the load or the ton. my dad had D-3, D-6 hi-track, D-9 hi-track and a D-11r the big bastard when he owner his rock quary. you can do alot of work in a hour with a dozer with a good operator.

We can make this work.
I'm thinking a corner cap to cover each side of the corner. May have to support it on the inside with the same and bolt it together.
Matt may be the cheapest with the railroad ties.
It'd be kind of cool to stick ~500 gallons of gas around the house in sealed plastic containers and light it off with diesel. I've always want to see how big the fire gets and how far it spreads when a 5 gal can melts. I've done it with 20oz bottles:D Living in the country rules;)
OR!!! We could get a 100lb propane cylinder, seal the house and have a remote light switch.

I can donate the propane for this, if someone has an old bottle to throw in.
