It's easy. Most instructors don't want to have any failed students on their record. They'll do just about anything to get you to pass. Re-shoots usually happen to old ladies who can barely hold the gun. You'll be fine.

If you've fired 500 rounds and hit something, you can pass it. Listening to the instructor/instructions is of utmost importance.

Does the range at Dyess AFB still allow recreational shooting on Tuesdays?

I used to teach it, but It's been a few years. I can't remember if there's any 25 yard shots or not. Maybe 15 yards is the longest distance. Most of it is up close, literally reach out and touch the target. Make those shots count and you can piss away the longer shots if you have to.

Just shoot the correct number of shots - it used to be an automatic failure if you fired too many or too few rounds for a given stage. So listen to the instructions when you're on the line.

But yeah, if you can fire the pistol and hit something close to what you're aiming at, you'll do fine.

I took the class and submitted all my paperwork in January, they cashed my check about 10 days after mailing it. I still don't have my CHL and its been almost 7 months. Got a letter about 4 weeks ago that said they "received it, and it is in processing"

Yeah I'd say good luck on getting one this year if you have not submitted it already.

One note I just thought of....

Keep your PIN letter. I thought it was only needed during the application process but, I was wrong.

You will need the PIN anytime you want to log into the website. Such as, change of address... Once you are in the system, its easy to manage.
