I sold the SV back in March and told myself that I could make it until next Spring to get another bike... well that pretty much went out the window when my buddy let me ride his '06 1000RR for a day. To make things worse I put an '07 GSXR750 back together for another buddy after he had a low side get off. After a couple of hundred miles on it, I decided I couldn't wait until the spring.
I pretty much have stuck to riding a 600cc bike for the last couple of years so I finally decided it was time to step up to a liter bike. Here she is!!
2002 954RR- Bone stock with only 5600 miles. I got it today for $5300 cash from Craigslist. So far I really like it! I was set on an '04+ 1kRR, but this one will do just fine! Especially for a first liter bike. Sorry for the crappy pictures but I couldn't wait to post them up! BTW for anyone that saw my thread from yesterday, the tires only had 20/22 psi in them front to back. Set it to 32/34 and it is much better!

Solid choice! I had the very same year and color 954, but no where near as clean.
brute of a bike, should serve you well. I have a spare like-new taillight for it, if you want it as a spare on the off chance you damage yours. $20!
Great bike though seriously, rock solid, have fun and be careful on it!

Great choice! I figured it was the tires. Low pressure will really make a front end feel heavy. Where did you buy it from?

Sounds familiar! I have a few spares too if you end-up needing anything. Bike looks clean, be careful!

I finally rode to work this morning. The trip from Arlington to Las Colinas sucks, but its much better on the bike! I absolutely love the power this thing makes. It is almost effort less! You can shift at 4-5k and still have plenty of power in the next gear. You can even roll on in 6th at 5k to pass people with ease! This bike is much better than the SV before it!! :D
Plus it falls into turns quite well and fells really stable. The SV was kind of twitchy at times. I'm really glad I made this purchase! :D

Its a good one, you made a wise choice. And It'll never need anything but Gas, Oil, Tires, and your ass on the seat
Gosh I feel all warm and fuzzy inside remembering my 954, I might have to go find another one! ;)

You going to head out with us Sunday Kyle? Still can't believe you found such a good low mileage bike.

I don't think so. This bike still has the original tires on it. The tires are starting to dry rot and are a little hard IMO. For highway use they are fine, but any kind of cornering and they would probably not hold up very well. New tires aren't in the budget for this month so I'm going to have to pass this time. My goal is to have the bike ready for a late Sept. or early Oct. ride through Arkansas with a couple of buddies.

well it is a sad day. b/c of the business i had posted the bike for sale. i finally had an offer that i had to take although it was less than what i wanted. i needed $5k by the end of the month to keep up to my end of a prior obligation so i sold the bike last night to a guy from Rockwall for $5k. my butt hole sure does hurt, but at least i have meet my financial obligation. i am really going to miss it though. it has been my favorite bike by far!
i had to keep telling myself yesterday to look at the bigger picture, but it was hard to keep thinking that while taking it for one last joy ride. if the my business continues to grow then by the end of the summer i should be on another bike. ill probably go to an 06+ CBR1kRR. A buddy of mine has been wanting to sell it for a Triumph so I will probably hit him up in a couple of months!
