I do but index racing is fun.
Brackets at denton sat night cost 50 to win 1000 thats a 20:1 return.
20 to win 300 is a 15:1 return.
But like i said ive been to this event before and i really enjoy it so im there.

Yeah, but in the brackets at Denton or the Motorplex, you could have 40+ cars and the competition is much stiffer. And you might have to go 7 rounds to win and 4 or 5 just to get in the money. In the index classes at this race I have only seen, at most, 10 or 11 cars in one class. You might only have to win one round to see some green in a couple of the classes.

Whipped! Ha, just kidding. :D
I'll be there. I'm planning to run my dad's mach 1 in the 13.0 class. Of course, I'll have to help out with the race as well.
Hopefully, the event will be around for next year. If so, I can see a few tweaks to the shootout class coming and maybe the addition of a "stock" tire class(similar to Denton's class).

So what was the reasoning behind changing the indexes?

I'm walking away with the 14.0 index in my titan, at least thats the plan.

So what was the reasoning behind changing the indexes?
Originally it was setup with NHRA safety rules in mind. The thought was if the fastest index was set at 11.50 then there would be no need to worry about checking for roll bars, harnesses, fire jackets, etc. Why it went from a .5 break to a .0 break I don't know. I guess maybe to draw more of the cars that run in the low 11 sec. and high 10 sec. range.

Yes, except the shootout class will be a qualified race instead of a one shot takes it all deal.

Just a reminder for those coming down Saturday night. Everything will be run on a pro-tree, time trials included. Oh, and a time trial tech card will only be $10. Everything should get going about 5pm. Probably end between midnight and 1 am.

Had a good time last night.
I was really suprised there wasnt a bigger turnout overall.
Good talking to everyone & congrats on the wins!!!!..... I wish I would have entered the 11.0 index but was afraid the motor was hurt & didnt want to chance it.
Props to the Motorplex!!! Good job with prep, track was hot & I was on brand new tires & couldnt sixty for crap on nitrous... (hense the first burnout...lol). Tires got beter by the end of the night.. Hopefully next time out there ready... Summer cruise should be fun.

My fastest pass in the shootout was an 11.3... Was shocked that there werent more cars in it.. Just ran the car on motor the whole night. Ran it once after the shootout on the nitrous & it ran for crap breaking up all through 3'rd with a 9.88, I think the plugs were toast after the cruise & all the motor runs.
In the first burnout breaking in the new tires they rubbed both the front & back of the wheelwell, wasnt too happy about that.. These new 28's stiffs actually measure out to almost 29" so will be doing some work on the wheelwells before Saturday's Summer Cruise.
