Well if you want to talk stats, I've had maybe a dozen DFW Stangs group rides that have been accident free and the first one you make this happens :p

Plan it out on Google Maps and figure a good (early) start time if possible.

yeah, lets definitely plan early sunday morning, start time around 9:30 work for you guys?
here are a couple routes i found, let me get some feedback on what you guys think
Lane to Quinlan - 32 miles
http://www.motorcycleroads.us/roads/tx_fm36.html
455 from Anna to Denton - 42 miles
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=11993259675352901389,33.345580,-96.588210%3B1131759247132976397,33.324590,-96.784240%3B10270137434661817258,33.394949,-96.945887&saddr=W+FM-455+%4033.345580,+-96.588210&daddr=W+FM-455%2FE+Pecan+St+%4033.324590,+-96.784240+to:FM-455+%4033.394949,+-96.945887+to:33.367811,-97.179909&mra=mi&mrcr=2&mrsp=3&sz=12&doflg=ptm&sll=33.401925,-97.061119&sspn=0.217828,0.43808&ie=UTF8&ll=33.388166,-96.769981&spn=0.217863,0.43808&z=12
I would prefer to do the Anna route, but I think Jose said something about construction there, so that's a maybe. but 455 below the roy roberts lake could make some really good group photos.

I was thinking everyone meet in Anna, then head north on 75 to f.m. 902, take that west to f.m. 3164, go north, then after a few miles turn right onto f.m. 678. Follow that across hiway 82, continue north to Callisburg, here 678 joins with 130 for a short jag to the right, but then straightens back out to the north....continue north to Dexter. Take a right on f.m. 106, and follow that to f.m. 901, and continue east to hwy 377.
From there we can go a mile or two or three north and eat at a joint called Gene's Hamburger Harbor, or we can go a little pricier and a little more scenic and run to Cedar Mills Marina and eat by the lake and the sailboats at Pelicans Landing.
Either way, from there, hop on f.m. 901 through Gordonville...we could stop and get my parents to take some quality group photos of us all......follow 901 to Sadler, hit hiway 82 east, to Sherman, then everyone can split up and go there own ways when we hit Hiway 75.
I suck at the interwebz, so if someone wants to plot it out with Google Maps go right ahead.
Opinions????
EDIT***: Got all the road numbers straightened out, this ride would be more about scenery and the boonies than it would be about carving corners and zooming straight aways. Give me some opinions, some feedback, and if somebody with some interweb skillz has some spare time, maybe map it out.
Although, 902 has been a lot of fun in the past

Made it home about 40 minutes ago. Had to stop in Denton for a gas stop and ran into a lot of slow traffic (including another parked cop car just before Lake Lewisville) that I had to work my way past. Never amazes me how some people just don't pay attention and/or are just going the speed limit side by side with similar idiots. Didn't ride to crazy but I can say I got around them quickly whenever I found an opening :D
Good ride. Roads outside of Anna still suck. If the pavement was a lot more solid the road would have been almost perfect. As it is now I was a little concerned diving into corners at any sort of speed :(And that was complicated some by the wind whenever we got into any open areas. Any idea if any of the parks by Lake Ray Roberts are free? Would have been fun to pull in to one for a break and cool off although I liked parking up on the bridge (or was it a dam?).
Pictures will be up in a bit. Should have taken some inside but forgot.

Not to mention it was cloudy with a "nice" breeze :D Any ride we can come back home safe from is a good ride. Sorry we keep the pace a little slow but IMO, the roads just outside of Anna were bad. With really sucked is that we would get to a straight away and the road looks like it had been recently repaved. Go figure. Hopefully they are planning on redoing more of the road around there.
What did you guys think of the food at Babe's? Some good stuff. Sorta rare that I don't finish "any" meal but that chicken fried steak is huge

I had a blast, and my neighbor Dusty texted me earlier asking what the name of the website we all know each other from is..( so possibly a new noob to bash, lol)
It was a good time, nice weather, good food. The roads just west of Anna could use some improving, but once we got west of Hiway 377, it was awesome. Oh, and it was nice meeting 1fastcpe, and Chris (forgot which screenname you are) and it was cool seeing Jose and Mark again.
All in all, good ride.

Nice meeting northstar, Neighbor & aprilla guy. Cant remember if i had met the guy on the aprilla before, dont think so.. dont know your screename though.

Agreed, if the road was smoother in the corners on that first stretch of 455, i would've hung a little closer to yall.

Slow's kinda dumb he bought a Honda... oh wait.. I bought a Honda too..oops haha
Slow.. I'll be there next time... when I get back from Hawaii this weekend I should be home for a couple months.
I'm going to find out what the name of the area is that me and all those Busa's went and maybe we can all head out that direction. Good riding out there

Ah, sorry about the mispelling, never put that much thought into the name.
Hey now, back off of the honda..let me know when you are ready for some corners, gotta love corners. Driving in a straight line is boring usually.

I should get my frame sliders by the time I get home so I'll put them on and I'll feel better about cutting the corners with you..

I wouldnt put a lot of faith in no cuts from what I have been told but I havent experienced it for myself. I am going with cut frame sliders most likely, but I havent decided for sure. Not to mention frame sliders arent going to do a lot if you slide off any corners we ride on, you will end up in in grass/trees or a fence.
Certain corners just shouldnt be riden fast, If there is a fence or trees really close then I would rather just chill and wait for the next corner..I like my arms and legs attached.

yea I know I just can't bring myself to cut the fairings.. I am getting the R&G sliders though... check them out they look like they would hold up really well in a slide and most people rave about them.. they are about 250 bucks but I found a new set for 160 from a guy on another board
i've seen pics of a bike that went down on R&G sliders and I was pretty impressed
