Why is it that every class feels the need to assrape turbo cars on the rules? I mean, KOTH is one thing, but dude its every single class. I just don't understand :(

Which is why I said that I can see them assraping the turbo cars in KOTH. Considering everyone is what three tenths off of Grant now?

Hell, I'm more than that.
There have been nitrous cars (Naiser, for one) run in the 4.4's. Matt Jones regularly runs .5's.
The turbo cars have struggled and gotten beat up on for years, now that they finally figure it out the nitrous guys are going to take their ball and go home? How many turbo cars have won championships?

Dude you're over analyzing what I said. I simply asked why do most classes put so many rules on turbo cars? Then I added my side note about how I can see it in KOTH but thats it. A three tenth spread is quite a bit. Should the rules be left the same in KOTH? Well thats up for debate and only time will tell.

They shouldn't be scared. The last race a 5.35 took home the dough. I'm about two-three tenths off that. I'm just looking to qualify.

Damn dude......I'TS UNLIMITED......this is just MY personal opinion....but the turbo guys seem to be the biggest whiners......if they are not whining about the turbo size.....they are whining about weight......in an UNLIMITED situation the turbo definatly has a horsepower advantage....yet the turbo guys don't think they should have to carry more weight....and DAMN....its only 100#......I think the turbo guys just look for excuses not to race.......in previous threads.....the turbo guys are like...."if you open it up to a larger than 88mm turbo I would race".......now its opened up to the point you can have TWO 114 mm tubos and now the whining is about a measly 100#

Yes they Should. It's only one car that has a advantage right now. Not all turbo cars are a head of everyone else. Other than Grant's missle everyone else is still right there with each other as far as Nitrous and Turbo's go.

I agree with your post. Its been one race since Grant came out with his new combo and its working extremely well. I don't think we should run off and change the rules based on one race.

If the rules are truly "unlimited" then I think this isn't too terribly bad... Now, if there was a turbo limit - it would obviously need to be rethought.
We've already discussed bringing out the turbo coupe this season, it just may happen this time. Last season, the stars weren't aligned and nothing went our way... combined with Tony traveling all the time..
Now, as far as the other classes go (yes I realize this is not a discussion thread on other classes)...KOTH, well, the turbo guy(s) have done thier homework and succeeded. TTT5, I think the rules in E/S are so,so (John's already gone a .27? right off of the trailer)...but personally I'd rather see the E/S nitrous cars get thier 2nd kit back and the turbo cars lose some weight - they need some hardcore seperation happening between T/S and E/S...and finally T/S - In past seasons, we might have been able to run at 3200 and maybe even 3300 lbs, now with the add of the new tires - No way we can run those numbers with a 76MM turbo@3200, At least the magic 8 ball says "my reply is no". :(
BTW, is the 275/60/15 drag radial still legal?

Just asking...why is there a weight difference for the Chevy heads (15, 18, 23°) and not for the turbo cars? I can have a twin turbo big block and weight 3300 lbs., I should be able to get a weight break for having a small block with a 75mm turbo. I would like to run the class, but I can't even come close at 3300 lbs.
Again, just asking the difference between the two. Is my thinking wrong on this? I am not whinning, just wanting to race and be competitive.

sure they dont need one... I doubt a BBC with a Twin Turbo setup will hook for squat on a 9 inch tire. But it will mph and backhalf like a promod!
I though folks with 400ci and 1 kit where having issues hookin on those tires?

I guess the main reason is that to do that.....someone would have to police it and tech the turbo cars....none of us have the time to do it as we are trying to race also.....if you want to volunteer your time and show up to every race and tech the turbo cars as well as try to race then maybe we can work something out.....but with the current set up.... the rules are that way to speed up the weigh/tech of the cars to make it as quick and painless as possible.

Trevin - if it would help, I'll machine a "go-no-go" guage for you guys. No measuring involved. All you do is hold the guage up to the compressor inlet. If it goes and has no slack - it's good. It it goes and has a LOT of slack, then the turbo is "too big".
I can make whatever you guys want. If I were to volunteer any info - it would be turbo cars 82MM and less 3,000lbs.. up to 88MM 3200, and anything above 3300.

So who have you got to sit around all day and measure valve angles?

Giving the 2nd system back to the nitrous cars isn't going to happen. There was too much carnage when the ran the 2 system thing. John S. went a 5.24, not a 27, right off the trailer in legal trim if I remember right. He should have left it alone that night and he probably would have won. So it can be done with the turbo rules the way they are, he proved that.
I see Trevin and Kelly's point. Bring it no matter how big it is. That way the limit is on the races back and it's his decision on what size turbo he wants to run and not the class organizers back.
I just wish they would get the payout a little more in line with Extreme Street, Ultimate Street and West Texas True Ten 5. They all pay $ 1200 and up to win. But the thought of spending $150 in diesel, $70 on race fuel, another $60 to $80 on nitrous, $50 entry fee, plus $30 to get my crew in the gate, and a set of tires keeps me from doing it for $500 to win. If I win, I like to know I at least broke even. But with this class I loose money even if I do win. Maybe the powers at be will look at the payout and adjust it accordingly. I hope so. I'll probably start playing if they make some adjustments in the payout.

thats why we are opening up the rules Unc.....more cars and faster cars = better show, more participants as well as spectators......if we can have a couple races with 16 or more cars I'm sure the track can get the payout up.

A complete outsiders view in here with NO dog in the fight, but when I talked to John S, he said fuck it he's not going to run at that weight because it's just to hard on parts at 3300 lbs. Why would he want to continue to do that for no payout.
I don't see enough difference between true and extreme to really care to go back. Make the e/s rules more open to allow better times and pull away from t/s.
