My first bike was an 86 Suzuki Bandit 600. I have since had an R6 and a Honda Shadow. Wasnt a huge fan on the cruisers and i didnt like the comfort of the Crotch Rocket. The bandit was perfect. It was a mix between the two. My wife and i want a bike that is comfortable and doesnt require a far lean forward.

Could you all help me find some bikes that are similar to the bandit.

There was a ZRX1200 on craigslist a few days ago. Great for "2-up" riding, and still bad to the bone. Great seating position, too.

I understand the Buell's are pretty high maintenance, and expensive to repair/maintain.

It's been a while since I've been on one but when I was on the Honda 919 I remember sitting more upright on them.

+1 for the Honda 919!! Great bike! Comfortable and plenty fast!

The Buell's used to have more problems, but the newer XB models are much more reliable and user friendly. They're comfortable and easy to ride, with great torque. I would recommend going with the XB12S over the XB9S, as the extra torque is nice and the 9S could be considered to be underpowered.

The FZ1's are also great bikes, but a ton of top end power! I think they look a little quirky though. They make great sport-touring bikes though.

Good luck and have fun shopping.

They're great bikes, though the new 1250's are a bit pricier. Al Lambs had a new 919 Hornet (2007) for less than $7k OTD last week.
