Maybe it's a garage question, maybe it's a racing bench question.

My car was already built when I bought it. It sat for a couple of years not being used, I got it running, painted it, etc. I don't know how to get in touch with the guy who built the car, so pretty much everything I know is what I've learned on my own. I have a question about a switch on the dash, maybe somebody here can help me out.

The car is a Fox body coupe, w/five-speed tranny. It has a line-loc and the momentary switch is mounted on the shifter. There is another switch on the dash that runs to the switch on the line-loc. The dash switch is a two position toggle switch. The line-loc seems to work just fine with the dash switch in either position.

What would they have had a switch connected to that would run to the line-loc?

possibly connected to the clutch safety switch. If it is, this will keep the car from rolling when you are staging and bringing up the RPM's.

Try to pump the brakes, push the clutch in and see if the clutch pedal bieng on the floor keeps the line lock engaged. Try it in both switch positions.

Reminds me of the time I was testing my transbrake in front of the 7-11 that time :(

I just choked on my coffee. That was damn funny. My assistant is looking at me like WTF now?

The testing session was cut short. I'll have it at the track tonight and should have time to piddle with it some then.
