We had 12 cars for the first one. Everything went very smooth. Rickey Crossley won in his twin turbo viper. He ran a best of a 7.40 @ 108 in eliminations, but it did run a 7.08 in time trials. He beat Rod Heltsel in an older Plymoth in the finals.

All in all a good race, and we are looking forward to the next one on 8/8/08. :D

Yeah, I bought a set of tires (still sitting new in the bags in the garage) for this deal and then got called out of town at the last minute for work. I've gone faster than 7.40 on slicks but I have no idea what it will do on street radials :o

it doesn't hurt that VIPER's street tires are 335/35/17's or larger they are steam rollers.

Yea i think any Normal car with normal tires would have lost. it hard to stick alot of power to the ground on radials and only with 1/8th of a mile to do it in.

I was race director Saturday night at the Kart track, at the end of the track ( North Texas Kartway ) and couldn't watch the drag cars much. Were there some fuel cars out or what was making all the big bad ass motor sounds? Saw some rail cars but when you are the boss you don't get to look long. Sounds like youall were flying. :) Cool.

Yeah the car is sitting on 275 Mickey Thompsons. I must have misunderstood. I guess you had to be on Street Radials to run in this race. I hook up pretty good on GSCs, But with the power im making I don't know how well it would hook up. My 60fts is why my times are decent. My car only traps 99 to 100 through the 1/8th.
