SAN DIEGO, July 23 (Reuters) - San Diego's city attorney said on Wednesday he filed a lawsuit against Bank of America Corp and its Countrywide unit to prevent the mortgage lenders from foreclosing on homes in the city, which he aims to make a "foreclosure sanctuary."

If this suceeds and if I was a BOA customer, why should I pay on my mortgage? They can't forclose on me.

And if I was BOA, why should I lean money for mortgages, when I cannot force the terms of the deal?

People in government do not understand the ways they distort the markets.

They're just rewarding these dead-beats, and it will lead to more of the same, but on a higher scale. For example, if they let some guy skate on a $150k mortgage, in a few years, the same guy could be living in a $300k house, doing the same damn thing. Why not?
