Well to begin with i'll list the stuff on the car

96 cobra with 121k miles
3.73 gears
eibach pro suspension (springs, shocks)
subframes
off road h pipe with flowmaster catback
18x9's with 265/35/18's (dunlops) I know not a drag setup
some jet chip piggyback bullshit
motor is stock

just got back from kennedale for a quick baseline, I ran 4 times and best was a 9.33@78. I'm very surprised at the shit mph, but I spun hard in 2nd and a little in 3rd. 60 ft was 2.3x.

Curious if I get some MT drag radials and cut say 1.9x and below hopefully 60fts would that improve my trap speed as well?

I was hoping for at least 80 mph, but could be heat, motor might not be up to par but it feels great though.

all that spinning is tearing up your times

if you get some great launches you will be in the 8's for sure!

agreed with Slone. Your MPH should go up if you get a 1.9

Just for point of reference, I was hitting a 9.0@78 in my 98 GT with gears on a 2.0 60.

I need to get the mach out there.

Yeah my bone stock 96gt the first time i took it out to kennedale ran a 9.33, don't remember the short time though.

I just looked and found another run where it was 9.20@77 with a 2.22 60 ft.

Would the 18 inch m/t tires hook? I don't think those have too much sidewall. Found some 305/35/18's.

I really would like to get wheels just for the strip, but i'm not going to be racing that much, so I am not sure if it's worth the cost.

You just need a sticky tire(s) and some cooler weather. Your mph will come up in cooler weather, so I would concentrate on your shoes.
