The 6 disc changer on the Focus doesn't want to eject CDs! Is this a common occurrence with disc changers of this kind???

The Ford service departments are telling me that they only have one audio tech. I'm told that he's a mobile tech that goes from dealership to dealership during the week only.

<--- Doesn't have luck with "Ford" electronics. :(

I think the local company Long's Entronix does all the Ford radio warranty stuff.

Sent the Focus in today.

They replaced the CD changer. We couldn't remove any of the CDs before it went in...so now they lost one of our CDs!!

The "tech" that worked on our car managed to bent the brackets to where it mounted off-center! AND scratch the face plate for the dash!!

That's not the "best" part. By the time we got the car home the head unit started freaking out. During any volume adjustments it would just keep raising the volume.

So now I'm taking the car back in to get:
1. A new CD player
2. New Faceplate
3. Either find my CD or reimburse me for the cost
4. Make sure the CD player gets mounted properly

Into the 2nd week of owning this car we have:
1. Two rims with bent lips
2. Replaced one sidewall damaged tire
3. TWO defective CD players
:(

Well, it's a simple equation really.... :D

1 BIG-ASS 12" Dallas Pot Hole + 1 set of rail road tracks to hide said pot hole = 1 sidewall damaged tire + 2 bent rims.

Took the Focus home again today. This time, they had to special order a NEW head unit AND a new face panel since it was nicked up. So in two weeks we'll be on our 3rd disc changer.. whoo hoo.

I'm thinking we might just ebay that bitch when it comes back and just get an aftermarket head unit. But I don't know how to swing it since the CD head unit is one of those thick ones.

Thick ones or double DIN size?

I guess it's called double DIN size. Remember that I'm car-audio-challenged... :D

It sounds like you might be having some wiring problems...if it is freaking out......---1 thing to think about are you blowing fuses by any chance---i do not that ford had a recall they do not like to discuss on the in dash changers----i know this because i'm a auto dealer...
hope this helps...chris"hookup"
My 2002 mustang has a six disk in it---but it has no problems.....
...........................
also if you ever need wheels repaired--or fixed try a place here in dallas called----star tire and wheel--off n. west highway...they fix wheels---including---dented rims---usally no matter how band they are torn up--for abour 80-bucks+ tax a piece--they also repaint your wheels--so they "9 times out of 10" look better then new...
