I have the opportunity to buy a brand new Vizio 50" plasma (VP50HDTV20A) for $800 out the door. Is this a Deal or a No Deal?

I've got a Vizio. Real pleased with it. No problems at all.

Don't do it, unless you are wanting a big tv for cheap. Picture quality in all areas wont compare to higher end brands, as well as build quality. Vizio buy's their panels from LG mostly and then puts together a Frankenstein of parts from different manufacturers to keep the cost down. So unless you plan on buying an extended warranty, it's really taking a chance on hoping it will last 2 or 3 years.

The TV is a couple of years old - any sort of warranty? It just seems like an average deal to me, nothing to get excited over.

It is a brand new TV with one year manufacturer's warranty.

It's fair, you could get much nicer for a couple of hundred more.. But if you're mainly going for size, it's a fair deal..
