There's a big curve when coming from a ring based promotion to a cage, I think we've seen that with a lot of fighters from Pride. But after shaking off the ring dust, most have come back to prove their worth. I expect Shogun to do well in the future. Look at Wanderlei.
Griffin just isn't the same calibur as Rampage, hands down.

I will agree for the most part. Rampage stepped into the cage again coming from a "ring" and looked to have no problem with it. Forrest definitely has his hands full in this one as Rampage has been a beast.

rampage, really shouldn't even be close. They try to play forrest up because he won the ultimate fighter, but he is nowhere near a top level fighter. The shogun he beat, was not the same shogun who destroyed rampage and just about everyone else in Pride.

I agree my young paddawa, the pride fighters just need to acclimate to the ocatagon and I feel that if it goes to the ground, FG might have a chance (him on top) but if it stays standing up, Rampage is going to win via KO. :D

I agree with making the adjustment from a ring to a cage. Rampage has adjusted very well( liddell, hollywood). I think Griffin is a warrior, just like Hollywood. I think Rampage vs Hollywood was one of the best fights Ive ever seen. I think griffin vs rampage wont be any different. Its going to be a battle.

Two inches plus longer arms does mean somthing. I believe Quinton is a 72" and Forrest a 77" as far as reach goes, add in two inches of height and it does make a difference

Forrest fought a great fight. I seriously thought this thing was over in round one when he stood into that sick uppercut... but Jackson didn't finish him off either time he knocked his ass retarded. This was their first fight?
Quinton thinks he deserves an immediate rematch. He needs 2 or 3 wins over top guys to get a rematch I think. I'd like to see Wandy knock him out again!
Good fight! Forrest did an awesome job working on Rampage's left leg. It seems like that affected everything he did standing up. Griffin proved himself to be a really smart fighter. We already knew he was tough as shit. I was surprised the way it turned out. Rampage never seemed like he was after blood (like he normally does). Congrats to Forrest!

Why wouldn't he get an immediate rematch? It's not like he got destroyed, he lost by a (contriversial) decision.
I subscribe to be the champ you have to beat the champ and I don't know if Forrest has silenced all the critics on that front or not.

Quite possibly, but it's not a 100% yeah Forrest won that fight to some, so I have no problem with an immediate rematch. I would actually like to see it and I think Forrest wouldn't mind fighting Quinton again.

Jackson only defended the title once. I just don't feel he deserves a rematch right away... Hendo didn't get a rematch, Chuck didn't, Franklin didn't, GSP didn't, Hughes didn't, Sherk won't. I know they were more definitive losses but a loss is a loss.
Machida? What if Irvin beats Silva? Thiago Silva is undefeated. Winner of Chuck/Rashad? I think it will be Machida/Forrest and Wandy/Rampage 3. Winners fight for the title. I guess we have to wait and see, you never know what the UFC will do, it's not about who deserves it with Dana White.

Chuck didn't, he's been beaten by Quinton 2 times in a row via KO (not a close decision), Franklin - completely dismantled by Silva, GSP/Hughes/Penn at the time were all top 3 who could have beat either three at the time so rotated those three around is why I don't think GSP and Matt didn't get immediate rematches.
Sherk positive for steroids, then being dominated by Penn...again not a close decision victory.
Machida maybe, I would like to see him fight one more top opponent but I believe he is definately in line after one more fight. Silva face a top opponent, do well then I agree as well.
As far as Chuck, if he wins then fights Forrest, Quinton beats someone and gets another shot, we have Chuck vs Quinton for the third time and it's not a fight I care to see (much like Franklin Silva three that I hope to never see)
Again this is all just my opinion so take it for what it's worth.

Well the first Chuck/Rampage fight was back in 03 and it wasn't a KO.
I was giving examples of past champs falling more for the fact that they had the belt longer than Quinton. Didn't Chuck defend it like 6 times before losing to Jackson? Same with Matt Hughes?
I agree with you though, I don't really want to see Franklin fight Silva again. Franklin is moving up to 205, they've even given Anderson the okay to go after the LHW title so he automatically in the mix with a win over Irvin I bet.
Everything aside, I just don't think anyone should get an immediate rematch. Unless it was stopped early or horrible judging or stopped for a cut I think he should have to win at least 2 times to get another shot.

Nice! I'm a big Rampage fan as well. I just don't like the whole immediate rematch thing I guess. To me, if you lose your belt you shouldn't get a chance to win it back right away when the division is so deep and other guys are on win streaks. A lot of things can happen by the time Forrest or Quinton have another fight too.
