because I can't believe there is NOT a thread or ANY discussion about what Boston did to the Lakers last night. They had the biggest finals comeback in NBA history...or at least since records have been kept. Lakers were leading the Celts 45-21 at one point and still had a 20 pt lead late in the 3rd Q and they melted/Boston dominated. Celts won 97-91. I'm having a great day because I've got a co-worker who smeared me after the Mavs meltdown against Miami (ref assisted) and again after the meltdown against Golden State (Dirk assisted). So this is sweet revenge. Please Boston...finish this off!

Yep, and all he needs is a ring on his own (no Shaq around) to define his legacy. I don't want him to win another title either.
Since the Mavs are out, I want Kobe and the Lakers to win it, but it's doubtful now. That was pathetic last night.

The game last night was incredible. Celtics went nuts in the second half. Anyone who thinks Kobe is a better player than Jordan is a damn fool. Good lord there is no comparison.

He did score 80+ points in a game & Jordan never did that. He ain't bad for a crybaby rapist.

And 61 against the Mavs in 3 quarters. Kobe is fantastic, I'll give him that, but he never hit as many clutch shots as Jordan did.

I see alot of ghost calls going boston's way in that game, it looks like the nba wants the celtics to win. It looks as bad as the mavs final 2 years ago.
also for the clutch shots, kobe makes them as much as jordan but in a league full of top talent and amazing shots it doesn't get hyped like jordan did.

I knew LA would be ready to play last night, Boston was behind most of the game but kept it close till the end. I believe though going back to Boston they'll win it at home!
And for the record, Michael Jordan is by far the best player of all-time. :cool:

You are out of your mind. EVERY basketball expert agrees that Jordon's Bulls had less "talent" than any team that has won the title,ever. Who is this talent your talking about? Pippen? WTF did he EVER do when he wasn't riding Jordon's coat tails? Jordon was double and tripple covered on every play,that leaves someone open to make a shot. Jordon also played when hand checking was allowed. Let's see Kobe drive with someone hanging on him.

This is probably the most ridiculous thing you've ever said Chris. Kobe has had far more talent around him than Jordan ever had and hasn't even come close to sniffing the success Jordan did. And Jordan had to do it with guys mugging him. Unlike the ticky tack garbage that gets called these days.

look at the talent of players today vs back then and jordan would be there right along with kobe. the difference is both kobe and lebron have almost no talent around them. Jordan only won his titles with a true 2nd threat scorer and a great rebounder. Kobe is getting mugged left and right and not getting calls yet jordan got the calls, granted not like d wade nobody is that good :rolleyes: .
just like so many thing montana is the best qb ever, was not shit with out help from great rb's wr's and a stout D to help hold the game close. Jordan will always be in a debate about who is the greatest, but if you put wilkens, miller, or any other great scorer on that team he played with and the bulls still had a better than rest to win the title.

jordan wasn't shit till pippen came along as well, so your point?
horace grant was a great force inside on d and rebounds not to mention he made a big man leave the lane to guard the 10-15 ft jump shot he had, pippen took another big man away, that left cartwright he was ok at best but yet he was one of the better at blocking out defenders on bulls drive to the lane. Don't take my word on go watch some old games and see for yourself.
as for the "double and trippled" team jordan was forced to pass the ball off and low and behold he had a paxon, pippen, kerr, toni k, sitting ready to fire a wide open 3. when jordan came back and most of the talent was gone what happend? he sucked balls with the younger faster and stronger players, got some shooting help and looks like old jordan.
if you want to use the score at will then wilkens would be at or near the top, hell he was double and trippled team all the time, he had shooters but you couldn't tell him that, he motto was give me the ball and go play D I got this. and he averaged high 20's a season if not low 30's.

Times have changed to from back in the Jordan Era to present. More teams focus on offense rather than defense now days. That's why Lebron, & Kobe, Etc look so much better than they are. Sure they can put up 40+ppg a night and still lose b/c of lack of defense. Jordan was very known for not just his offense but his defense as well, he was defensive player of the year at least a couple times I believe throughout his career!

I am a wilkens fan, he was a great scorer not much else. as for bird and johnson they made the nba what it is today, they showed that you have play hard and do what it takes to win. Jordan didn't do shit but score till he got help then the league needed the fans and all of hte sudden jordan became a world beater yet he held people more than karl malone and funny how he almost never foulded out of a game. And after knowing that the refs have been know to fix games doesn't that make it even that much more clear that the NBA made Jordan more than what he really was.
